For me, Sturridge

carroll is a physical player who is good at holding the ball up but he lacks pace. Sturridge has it all but has to play like he did at bolton if he wants to earn a call up to the national squad.

Sturridge has played himself into the starting line up now, he will be a perminant fixture - 20+ goals so easily 10 more than Carroll

Looks like Capello think's Andy Carroll is good enough to be the England squad and Sturridge is not. Wellbeck is better than Sturridge too at the moment according to the mighty Capello.

I have to agree with JD that Carroll was probably our worst player on Saturday, compared to other games he hadn't offered as much danger and didn't do as much for the team as a whole, however at the end of the day he scored a crucial goal which probably is about as good as helping the team as a whole.

Shearer hit the nail on the head in his MOTD analysis. Liverpool have to be prepared to throw in a first time ball if they are going to utilise Carroll. They dick around with it too much - just get it in the box. (I don't think those were his exact words)

It's because Carroll has much bigger wages and much higher transfer. The FA pick the players, not Capello.

Maybe because he offers more and is a different type of player to Sturridge? There is about 5 players English players in the league who are similar to him

Carroll is still a quality player, he's just not as enthusiastic for Liverpool as he was for Newcastle. I really don't think he ever wanted to move clubs..

However, i have no idea what this has to do with boro, or why you are asking this, but to be honest I am quite happy to be in a division where we can compete, and where we have no over paid mercinaries on our books. So not being in the Premier League is fine by me, but you probably wouldn't undertsand that being a glory boy yourself!

In my lifetime I have seen my team relegated 5 times, but I have alos seen them make history on numerous ocassions - I have been to see them play regularly too, which I hazard a guess is something you havent!

Of course he would get into the Boro team, Anyone who took that statement serious needs to have a look at themselves, but it was clear I was just replying to the fool who decided to get all high and mighty, posted and decided to bring Boro into it.

The original thread was about Sturridge and Carrol, and was a poll so was therefore open to anyone, regardless of who you support.

It is of course quite ironic that two Liverpool 'fans' - neither of whom are from Liverpool, should chose to slag of Boro ( I wouldn't expect this from a genuine fan who realises Liverpool are streets ahead of my little team)

And for Dunlin YNWA - how can a 'real' football fan support a team he never goes to watch?
