The fact Trescothick is missing! The man is having a huge season, even by his standards.

Chris Woakes?
Batting average of nigh on 50, and 32 wickets at under 20 runs each.

CF you seem to exclude Trescothick from every team any reason for this he's having a sublime season.

i have a captain, in mitchell, and have solid openers

Even if he's not captain, hes among, if not, the finest batsman in domestic cricket this season. He walks into this team.

You have a captain and far better batter in Trescothick...

just adding to Trescothick, i assume he is still the top scorer in the CC this season, therefore should naturally walk into the team

Not really.. you said they were solid openers but didn't back that up.

yh i did i said wanted mitchell for his captaincy, and also him and pettini are solid batsman at the top of the order

You don't put a slightly better captain over the best runs scorer in the competition.

Not really if your putting someone who averages 35 over someones averaging 77...

he is a soild batsman, better captain and i have plenty of batting, he also offers option with the ball...

Thats not the point though, Trescothick is having a better season than Mitchell,fact.

Also in your side Benkenstein and Stevens add another bowling option.

this, Tres is probably the most destructive opener on the county circuit. Averaging twice as much as Mitchell and you wouldn't have him

When has CF ever picked team based on performances?He picks players whom he likes and I dont have any problem with that.But instead of calling it the
"Best County Championship Side of the season",he should name it as "My Favourite County Players' XI".That would be much better.

Or maybe CF just wants to wind us up.I mean he picked Tim Southee ahead of Dale Steyn in his Best World Test XI over the past year

And he is ignoring Tresco.

Seeing as you don't want to respond on the other thread. Can you explain your selection of two guys who have not played a single Test match in the past 12 months in your self titled "Best Test Team of the last 12 Months" team?

Vince has been poor this season in the County Championship only averaging 27.

Paul Nixons been even worse only averaging 13 and not even making a half century why not have someone like Davies in there?

Sean Ervine's only averaging 20 and hasn't been much better with the bowl either!

nixon's keeping is awesome, and davies hasnt done much better this season..

ask the surrrey boys!!!!!

No TRESCOTHICK........ oh wait.....

oh go on then, according to BBC averages, Nixon hasn't even hit 100 runs this season yet, 96 or so highest score of 46 so any other keeper would do.

tight decision between Keedy and Rashid i'll give you that but wanted Rashid to compensate for Onions and Willoughby with the bat. Strong depth in both batting and bowling.

You don't put a keeper on simply for his keeping if that was the case Foster would get in with no doubt. But it's not, averaging 13 isn't good enough for a number 7. Maybe not Davies yes but he's certainly doing better than Nixon.

ervine is awesome and hasnt had a bad season in general!

Is that why you've got him in your team because "he's awesome"

Of course he's had a bad season, number 6 averaging 20. I'm sure he won't be happy with that.

tbh mate even Kieswetter hasn't had the best of seasons, also being away with england on one day duty means he has missed chances where other keepers have scored runs.
