Hatton V Alvarez: WBC title fight
Ok
So Matty Hatton 41-4-2 is getting a shot for the WBC title against the young star Soul ALvarez 35-0-1 in May.
Personally i am suprised that Hatton ever got this far as the quality of opposition he has lost to say far more than those he has beaten. They have a common foe in Lovemore N'dou which neither of them managed to get out of there and Hatton could only force a draw. Alvarez is a bit of a golden biy shall we say who is being built for bigger things. He has fought a lot of tomato cans in his young career but having already been in 35 bouts should be ring ready for this one.
How do we see it going, personally best i see Hatton doing is a lop sided UD loss, he hasnt the power for world level and i think although we dont know how good Alvarez may be i think he comes under world level quality. Hatton lacks any slick moves in the ring, is a brawler and come forward fighter without the snap in his punches that his brother once possessed. for me this has late KO or UD for Alvarez with Hatton making a decent pay day and trip back to euro level opponets. Can anyone see this any other way?

Another mockery of the sport that the title has already been vacated
Alvarez by early stoppage, i'm thinking Cotto/Jennings

I dont rate Alvarez that highly. Hatton will get KTFO inside 4 though. How can someone like Hatton get a shot at the world title? Is he the second best boxer at WW for the WBC to choose from?

Alvarez is only 20 but has already had 35 fights, including a few up at 154. I really dont rate Matt Hatton at all, he looks unnatural as a boxer, uses his head too much, holds and mauls too much, hits on the break, he's actually a really dirty fighter IMO. He also has no power and has been decked by lesser men than Alvarez. Not saying Alvarez is the second coming of SRR or anything but he has world level potential, whereas Hatton is barely a Euro level fighter who's had a few breaks in his career. Yes he's on a decent run of form, but that wont help him here. Alvarez by KO or TKO, sometime before the 6th round.

Its all about the benjamins. The one who had fought twice in 2 years was not ranked and is a confirmed cheat.

Hattoon is going to head-butt Alvarez's glove too often. Ending within 3 rounds.

lots of fighters seem to go for this tactic but it seems wearing down the other fighters fists with your skull is pretty ineffective, its a shame as i feel thats hattons only real chance

Maybe hatton will try the rope-a-dope with him being on the ropes and a dope.
