Interesting to see if Harrisons still got it, he was a pretty good looking contender at one point.

Yeah looking forward to seeing what Harrison has left Kev, he was still at the top of his game when he was jailed, albeit a little off the rails.

I'm hoping he still has enough left for a British title at least. He looked in great shape when he got out and apparently he is keeping out of trouble and keeping in the gym. He's going up to Billy Nelsons gym fr a bit of sparring over the next few weeks which will be really good for him. Simpson and Burns will test how much he has left. He has sparred Willie Limmond a few times already since getting out so he seems to be taking it seriously.

Re: Boxing News
Late Sub Herring Upsets Springs
With the main character of perhaps the biggest real-life Rocky-story in boxing history, former undisputed Heavyweight Champion “Buster” Douglas, watching from Ringside, late substitute Willie Herring created his own equivalent when he won the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ World Cruiserweight title on Saturday (10.1) at the Rising Star Casino in Rising Sun, scoring a sixth round stoppage over local favorite and former WBC World title-challenger Ravea Springs.
Springs was originally scheduled to fight Daniel Judah for the UBO title, but when Judah pulled out Herring jumped in and took the fight on short notice, flying in from Orlando, Florida on the day of the fight to save promoter Nate Tubbs´s main event on a show where part of the proceeds are going to help fund the Nate Tubbs Group Home for Boys.
Tubbs had earlier seen his co-feature, a UBO International Female Super Featherweight title fight, scrapped when a pre-fight physical showed that one of the contestants is pregnant.
Willie Herring, who actually holds a significantly higher BoxRec ranking than Daniel Judah despite a spotty professional record, and has a victory over IBF # 3 contender Troy Ross and a draw with world-class light heavyweight Shaun George, was coming off a bad run at heavyweight.
Moving back down to Cruiserweight, where he has only lost three times, twice in title fights and once due to an injury, proved to be a wise decision for the 32-year-old.
Herring knocked Springs down in the first round with a hard right hand, and the former NABO champion got up on shaky legs.
After that it was all Herring, who put the pressure on Springs with punishing body-shots and hooks to the head. Springs was forced to fight on the retreat, and never got any kind of momentum in the fight.
The end came in the sixth when a crushing right hook send Springs down again, and the fight was waved off with only seconds remaining of the round. With the victory Herring improved to a deceiving 13-9-3 (4), while Springs falls to 28-4 (22).
“I am going to stay at Cruiserweight now, my natural weight class, and I am going to beat anyone who gets in my way”, said the new World Champion after the fight.

That would be good. Barker wouldn't be so much of an underdog and should have some confidence and belief going into it.

Unless the fight happens in Mexico or Vegas. I'd have Barker to win this though.

If he isn't next up for Pac. That's why he's at Top Rank - lets face it. Sooner or later Arum is going to want him to fight Pacman. Only remaining question is whether its before or after Khan.

It's his own fault and for a World title fight not coming in on your best condition is just sad and wrong in my opinion unless there is a genuine reason, smoking a bit of marijuana with your mates, is not.

Re: Boxing News
Getting fined for a bit of weed is a joke. It's not a performance enhancer and would have gave him no advantage in the Bradley fight. It was probably real good stuff mind you they grow it outdoors in California.

Re: Boxing News
its not performance enhancing but it makes a mockery of the sport - its the principle, he deserves to be punished in some way and hurting his wallet is the way to go. his own fault.
this being said i dont think its worth with holding all the money he made - he still turned up and tried to win - got knocked over and got back up.

Problem is it is medicinal in some places including California he may have an appeal case. It would be interesting to see how the California State Commission acted if it happened under their watch.

Re: Boxing News
Their is a way round it. They do have a prescription licence in California but people are still getting away with growing it for their own use if it's for medical reasons.
He will get fined though don't think it will be any more than 20% of his purse. What did Tyson get when it happened to him?
