Is indeed interesting Scott, suggests that whilst he carries the weight pretty well Floyd is perhaps not a natural welterweight, also have to say it does make him not cutting the last couple of pounds against Marquez seem a little cheeky because that suggests he could have done so had he been inclined.

tony bellew to defend his british title against paul david (voluntry defence). should be an easy night for bellew, would have expected him to go for a more well known opponent if he is actually serious about fighting cleverly for the title.

i dont rate him anyway. the first mckensie fight was a good one, and he nearly got knocked out. did well to come back but the second fight was garbage and other than that his record is shocking. he was handed the commonwealth title on a plate as well.

Bellews poor, got good power but proved he has next to no real boxing talent.

Also is that a slightly high weight for Ortiz with only 30 days to go? (Admittedly I don't know much about shifting weight)
Also I think it shows how Floyd just keeps himself in fantastic shape out of the ring, get a feeling he's going to be superb in honesty...

donaire has had the date of his next bout moved forwards from the 4th nov to the 22nd oct. arum said that it was to avoid been aired the same night as showtimes bute vs johnson, but also so it is further way from the pacquiao vs JMM bout, so that donaire wont be over shadowed. the likely opponent will be omar narvaez (35-0-2) and will be donaires last bantamweight fight before moving up to jr featherweight.

Their was a piece from Triss Dixon in boxing news a few weeks back about fighters getting World title shots coming off of defeats and it was ridiculous. Morales-Matthysse will fight for a title and both are coming off defeats.

Arum says at press conference for Gamboa-DeLeon that Gamboas next fight could be with Juanma then hopefully Donaire next year. Sounds good and him and Schaefer are talking of more co promoted shows. Sounds good we can only hope they don't fall out again.

Alex Arthur thinks Buchanan and Harrison are Scotlands greatest. Shocked I was led to believe him and Scott never got on. Seem to remember a foul mouthed tirade from Harrison directed at Arthur although I may be wrong or Harrison was drunk and apologised and Arthur forgave him.

Cleverly says at the press conference he is happy to fight Bellew in Liverpool. A venue has not been decided yet apparently. The 02 arena seems to be the best shout though. Not sure Warren would want to give either home advantage.

There is more chance of Norwich winning the league this season, if Warren delivered half of the fights he threatened to make he would be the greatest promoter the sport has ever seen. Am willing to apologise if proven wrong but don't think Warren will let Clev anywhere near Hopkins, in reality will offer him about £40 and insist he comes to Wales and then say Hopkins wants no part of Nathan when he refuses the offer.

Warren claims to have held talks with Schaefer abut it but like you I would believe it when I see it. He said Hopkins would come over here as well which seems doubtful. Bellew vs Hopkins at the Echo arena seems unlikely.
