I just read about this in GQ and thought I would look it up on youtube.

All I can say is Oh My God!

Its the most harrowing trailer I have EVER seen.

I am being genuine - this is truly disturbing. Take a look and tell me what you think. Be warned, the trailer is very disturbing.

I've got a really strong feeling that when we look back this game will be more remembered for that trailer than anything to actually do with the gameplay itself.

Its a shame as based on that trailer they have the right idea about what makes a really good survival horror, I just think the execution is going to badly let this game down.

yeah I actually saw the gameplay before I watched the trailer. The trailer is immense but the gameplay seems to be lacking. Quite like the idea of zombies having different levels and the stamina bar though. Reckon I'll give it a try though saying as the trailer was so good. Although I expect to see it in the pre-owned section for 20 quid a few weeks after realease. More than willing to be proved wrong though. It will never-ever come close to Resi though

I have watched the trailer again this morning.

If that was a film trailer, I would go and watch it. I have never seen a game trailer make me feel sad before....hell I havent seen a game trailer make me feel anything!

It really is amazing, I've been telling everyone who enjoys gaming about it today. The graphics involved too are immense, the parents look like real people.

The dad looks like Christian from WWE in some of it.

What is the release date for the game? Everywhere I have looked has said 2011 generally.

I would buy it but I dont have a PS3 or Xbox!

And I dont like games on the PC - I bought dead space but just couldnt get to grips with the controls.

If I had one of those consoles, I would get it yesterday.

I'd have imagined it was a game that you'd be able to play comfortably on the Wii like you can with Resident Evil?

The wii is the kids but I am allowed to use it for 3 hours a year!

Does anyone know what the story line is supposed to ? Are we going to be playing as one guy trying to right his way of the island or playing a few storys throughout the game?

The developer for the game isn't known for creating good games, Call of Juarez is prob the best thing they have released (20yrs in the industry) and thats hardly anything to shout home about.

If the last game they released before Dead Island (Call of Juarez: Cartel) is anything to go by then they are known for poor shoddy work in regards to gameplay and environment.

Good trailer but for those thinking of buying I'd be a little cautious when buying this game in case you waste your cash.

Had my eye on this for a while, hope it lives up to the hype.

I reckon it'll be one of those games where they have spent far too much time on the cut scenes and not enough time on the actual game.

The trailer is brilliant.

The gameplay looks really bad.

I'll avoid this like a zombie plague - been burned too many times before by investment in cut scenes to sell a poor product.

Pretty sure you got a choice of a few characters, each with their own kind of preffered weapon (blunt clubts, knives etc) ranging from tourists to hotel staff. I've started looking at this game as more than a prospect and done a bit of digging. I'll be giving this one a miss until it hits the 2 games for a tenner offer. Used to think it was worth a buy but its starting to look aweful frankly

The reviews have started to come in for this and it's not looking good to be honest.

Avoid till it hits about £20.00, it's being discribed as dull, repetative and glitchy.

Sounds like they spent 5 million on the trailer and 50p on the actual game

I'll still pick this up as anything that is 4 player co-op is a good laugh if nothing else but I wont be getting it until someones doing it cheap. A real shame as the trailer was EPIC.

Doesn't surprise me based on the studios past record in making games, you only had to look at Call of Juarez: Cartel to see the obvious horrors that may await.

Only read two reviews so far one from IGN and the other the Metro, now the Metro reviews aren't worth the paper they are written on so that can be discarded. IGN on the other hand can sometimes provide decent reviews when they aren't being paid to gush all over a game, I'm not sure if this is one or not though. They did give it 8/10 and the review itself was quite open to the basic fundamental flaws the game has but did try and bring out the good the game has to offer if you can move past those flaws.

Might pick it up eventually but will await some more reviews.

Dass IGN is the worst gaming publication going. All they do is d*ck ride on CoD, then blast other games about not changing anything

There's worse than IGN out there, Eurogamer springs to mind straight away. Not saying they are a paragon of good reviewing rather they can sometimes get over themselves to do one on occasion.

They wouldn't be the first publication to have a favourite or be biased in reviews due to industry pressure or large chucks of money coming there way. They may be hypocrites at times when reviewing games but that doesn't make them wrong in their reviews at times it only makes them hypocrites.

Is anybody else struggling to get a hold of this game just now?

Where you trying to buy it from, I know Amazon has copies and Play most likely does also. It wasn't a limited release as far as I know, only game in that category in the last while has been Demon Souls.

From the shops in and around Edinburgh Dass, was impatient, might just order it online, on holiday the rest of the week and had forgot about the game. Blockbuster said it would be two weeks before it came back in.

Most likely the shops have underestimated demand for the title and their initial orders were not enough to cope, I know Game are notorious for doing this with titles that don't have a massive brand name behind them or are heavily hyped. There knowledge outside the narrow mainstream is extremely limited at times for a store supposedly built around gaming.

I normally just order online these days as its easier, plus with my PC games I really have no other option its either online buying or digital copies through Steam or some one similar.

I am mate yeah, just on the fringe anyway. I'm heading into the City Centre tomorrow, hopefully i'll get it somewhere, a little Tesco's or something, my mate had the last one out the main Game the other day, charged him 47.99, i won't be paying that for it. If i can't get it tomorrow i'll just order online but won't end up coming till i'm back at work. You played the game yourself? I really liked Dead Rising but the new one is only 17.99 to pre-order, doesn't sound good.

Yeah off the record is only £17.99 on Amazon at the moment and only 29.99 full price. I quite like my Zombie games but i'm not sure how much they've done to it with it being so cheap. I'm hoping i can see Dead Island for £39 tomorrow as i'm not paying much more than that for it.

Thanks Hobo, my mate wasn't too keen on it but said it was really good when i spoke to him the other day.

GG watch the trailer in reverse it's even better. Not my kind of thing though so I'll be avoiding it.

Seen that one Kev, really cool, i tried not to get too excited as sometimes the trailers can be a bit misleading, seems like this should be good. I do like my zombie/horror games although not a huge fan of horror films.

Buying this game at the weekend, a lot of my mates have it and say it's brilliant.
