Henson to miss World Cup
"Wales centre Gavin Henson has undergone "corrective surgery" after dislocating a bone in his right wrist and is likely to miss the Rugby World Cup.
The 29-year-old was forced off in the 32nd minute of Wales' 19-9 World Cup warm-up win over England in Cardiff.
Wales initially thought Henson broke his arm but the wrist operation will keep him out for up to eight weeks.
Wales start their World Cup campaign against defending champions South Africa in Wellington on 11 September.
Henson will "remain in the care of the Wales national squad medical staff" so could be called up by coach Warren Gatland later in the World Cup when he returns to fitness."

It is a shame real i thought he was playiong very well up to the point he went off.
Just a side note, how will this affect his rugby now? will he carry on or will he go back to being a tv celeb?

It's his right wrist as well which makes it even worse to some extent
I mean making tea and coffee and generally carrying things round the house

They would not have sorted it out so soon unless there was a very good chance he will make a swift recovery.

Henson was looking back to his best in the first 30 - it's a shame for him - Maybe he can get a late call up at some stage as I'm sure we'll struggle with some injuries given the nature of the oppo.

Needs to get a club/region/province now and get involved when we're in the WC. Or go back to TV.

Cut out the TV commentary and watch it again. Don't think you could draw any final conclusions (good or bad) after his short time on the pitch. Still think he had a good bit to do to convince them to select him. He might have done it, but injury intervened, you can't base much on so short a game time.
Should give him time to return in October and a bid to make the 6N squad if he decides to do so.

That's a real shame. I think that this will mark the end of his playing career to be honest. If he wants to continue working in rugby, he's better off looking for a coaching role or something.

Clearly if he isn't going to be fit for the world Cup he shouldn't be going.
It's very sad for him, but lets be honest this was sods law waiting to happen.
