Union Cane's Prediction Cup - The Final Result - Winner : alma
First topic message reminder :
I'm toying with the idea of running a knockout cup competition alongside the new Premiership / Championship Prediction Leagues, this is just a test event to iron out any potential problems with the stadia and transport network et cetera.
The idea is to use Wednesday Night Fights for the cup competition, this will mean a limited choice and a lot of unheard of fighters, so it might fall flat on its face, but if it doesn't work I'll know not to bother with it when the next season kicks off.
So, I need 16 volunteers for the test event, once we have the 16 I will do the draw and then put the fights up for you to predict.

The Final
We are going on a five day trip around the world for The Final, visiting all four corners of the globe.
The fights are as follows :
A - Sunday 4th September - Tanzania
1. Bakari Mohamed v. Ramadhani Shauri (8) - Ramadhani Shauri W PTS

6. Yahya Mkumbukwa v. Shafii Ramadhani (4)
Injury and illness decimated the line up (I should think), and only 3 fights survived, one of which was drawn. Alma scores an impressive 8 points, having predicted both remaining fights would end in decisions, whilst sodhat scores a solitary 1 point for predicting that Shauri would beat Mohamed. That's quite a lead after the first card, has alma got this in the bag already?
B - Monday 5th September - Dominican Republic
7. Vladimir Baez v. Ramon Duran (12)

Enough differences between mine and Alma's to make a draw unlikely. Good luck for next week, Alma

Smart? I've had an awful day bhb, so I wouldn't be surprised if you sneak through
Given that the Nakamori fight is an eight rounder and these are normally on first, you may be lucky and find that this fight is void

So to summarise, a Nakamuri UD win will see bhb001 through to face sodhat in the final, anything else and it will be alma taking on the high scoring prediction legend.

Perhaps the Boxrec man was watching it on tv, and this fight wasn't televised? I dunno...
This is most unsatisfactory, and has rather taken away from the drama and excitement of the occasion.
I will email Kameda Promotions and see what has gone on.

For someone with no interest in this, Coxy is paying a lot of attention. A little like a kid who keeps saying what a stupid game and the next minute "pick me pick me".

The false reporting of fights should result in at least a points deduction, if not a ban from the league.

It's all a fall out of D4 leaving the boards, has obviously had a deeper effect on him than any of us could have imagined, think we all need to be a little more supportive in what is clearly a difficult time for him

I'm happy with winning a prediction competition that doesn't involve completely random guessing.
And your comparison is quite laughably wrong, as i've already been knocked out as i took an easy and somewhat lazy option of just picking everyone by UD without even checking who they were. There is no chance of a "pick me to play" scenario, i'm merely here becuase it apparently winds you up.
Did my initial post raise your expectations that you might be in with a chance of winning something for the first time in your life? Best text your family back saying that coxy0001 was a bad lad and you've fallen short, again....
Chin up

I'd go home and cry into your pint, reliving past glories, re-writing engagements so you win them etc etc
