First topic message reminder :

Just a note (pinched directly from Wikipedia regarding the 2012 installment of FM. I am desperate to get a hold of this and start playing, I missed 2011 out but I fully intend to get back on this social life-sapping horse.

The next in the series of the Football Manager simulation game is set to be the 19th game released and is reported to include 800+ improvements. The new changes (of which only a few have been announced so far) include an improved 3D Match Engine, a new manager team talk system called "Tone" which will enhance your personality in the game and a different way to select the nations involved in your player database which now means that you can add or remove nations as you play.

The final version though, is yet to be finished as it will need the Summer Transfers within the game and some parts just need "finishing off".

More information from press releases is expected to come out in Autumn 2011 and the game is to come out before Christmas, but if the development stays on course it will be released (like previous versions in the series) in late October to early November 2011. A handheld version is also widely expected, but hasn't been officially announced as yet.

I've started playing again, which probably isn't a good thing with my exams coming up.

December of first season and I'm sitting fifth in the league, only just lost my first match(Man United away) but pleased with that, only made a couple of signings. Figueroa at left back, Jelavic as another striker and James Forrest. Looking for a DM and AM in January/summer and I'll be sorted.

Only downer being Wolves are 3rd in the league!

Currently 4th in the table with 6 games left. My form has become erratic at the wrong point of the season. Only 3 points seperates 3rd-7th so need a good run in. Oh now about to play the most important game of my tenure. A FA Cup semi-final against Everton. Come on you Yellows!

YES MADE THE FINAL Yahoo

Dominated the game from start to finish but it ended 1-1. They scored a 91st minute equaliser! Then I won 5-4 on pens! Bring on Chelski boxing

I despise games going to extra time, as I tend to make fairly early substitutes, but then by the time extra time comes around I can't put anybody on to make an impact. It also ruins my plans for the next game as loads of my players end up being knackered.

I'm not very good at cups full stop to be honest, I always put out too weakened of a side. I nearly lost to Paris FC, a semi-professional, lowest league in France side as PSG in the first round I could enter of their version of the League Cup. Laugh

Won my final game and managed to finish 4th in the league. Also won manager of the year Very Happy

However I don't get to qualify for the Champions Cup because the final is being contested by Arsenal and Liverpool who finished 6th and 5th respectively. So annoying steam

In my games as Northampton, I saved them from the drop by winning 4 of my last 6 games and commenced the summer with a mass clear out, so that I only had 6 players with a budget of around 100k.

Signed a litany of players who seem solid, with a mix of experience and hungry youth.

My best two signings have been Ian Harte for 1k and Adam Le Fondre for 20k.

I achieved back to back promotions with Wrexham but the second season was a real struggle after Christmas. I was unbeaten until January and then went on a massive losing streak, I was lucky to get in the play offs but still I went up.

Got offered the Chelsea job in June and as I feel that I've taken Wrexham as far as I can I moved to London, surprisingly all my staff left the club the day after as well Laugh

First move as Chelsea boss was to sign Eden Hazard, he's cost £35 million from Lille.

So I've started as Dortmund manager, massive transfer kitty of 2.75m and a wage bill that's already at max. Trying my best to offload the major wage earners that aren't part of my long term plan but no-one wants any of them.
Lost the season opener in their equivilant of the Community Shield to Schalke 3-0 though though it was partly due to pre season I picked up 7 long term injuries!
2nd game of the season I scrapped through the first round of the cup v a lower league team on penalties, it's not going well.

I've got that version on the iPhone mate and it's very watered down as you'd expect. Worth £6.99 though.

Played some more of my game and since moving to Chelsea I signed, Hazard, Telo and Adam Johnson. Kept the same tactic I was using at Wrexham and it has worked perfectly, dismantled Newcatle 5-1 at St James Park with Cavani getting all 5.

I have a few games going on and I play whichever depending on my mood

My favourite one is Forest in the Premier League, a couple of good young players when I started my first season MBaye Niang and Lucas Andersen. Got them on loan to begin with and then kept them on loan for a season, lost out on promotion in the play off, second season got promoted, third 12th in Prem, currently in fourth season and am 8th in table

Coming into the home straight of my Arsenal file with rediculous amounts of money. Currently 2nd in the table 1 point behind Utd having just missed the chance to move top after a draw with West Brom. Agreed a £5.5 million deal for Adam Johnson to move to Arsenal in the summer.

Something else i've just thought of, does anyone have a team here where you're high up on the list of teams with the amount of bookings? I don't know why but a team I have is never in the top 10 for amount of bookings you see while the game is simulating.

I haven't a lot of times.

I did on FM 10 when I was Birmingham. In my first year I had my players aggressively tackling and we played quite a gritty game. I finished 8th, but was top of the bookings, and the next year played less aggressive football and fell down the booking tables, but went up the league table.

2 games into my Champions league campaign with Dortmund, lost the first at home to Arsenal 3-2 after twice being in the lead, gutting. Then went to the San Siro and pulled a huge 4-1 win v AC Milan, in the league I'm currently 3rd but have had a couple of poor results, Bayern are currently miles ahead and looking unstoppable.

Have a dilemna, I walked the league with Northampton winning it at a canter and have been offered the job at Blackpool, whom are in the prem.

There's scope to push on with this Northampton team, but I'm tempted by my first Premiership opportunity, what do you guys reckon??

You should look to further your career, unless you think you can get Northampton up again next season. If you don't take the Blackpool job.

I've recently started playing again, just won the league with Wigan for the first time in season 4. Man Utd threw it away, and ended up winningby 2 points. Havent spent any big money, alot of my players where free transfers. Is is just me or do all the great young German Kids get released? I've 8 German youngsters, basically all 4 stars or better. I invested in youth from the start and now have reaped the rewards.

GK: LUIS Guilherme 1.8 mill
RB: Coke spanish guy 5mill
CB Guillermo Burdisso 2.2 mill
CB: Boyata 2mill
LB: Dodo 6 mill Record Signing
DM: Lucas Zen 3.8 mil
CM: Bertolacci Free
CM: Octavio Farias Regen 1 mill
AM: Granero Free
Am: Bacuna Free
ST: Sturridge Free

Farias is outrageously good. Bought him after the first season when he was 16, and had to wait 2 years for him to sign. He's already got 6caps for Argentina and all the big clubs are bidding for him. ive also got 4 other guys with 5star potential and a brave few others with 4.5 stars. In the past two seasons ive spent 600k and just concentrated on upgrading facilities and the stadium.

I have another save with Celtic, basically the same principles. I reached the CL final in my fourth season, was defeated by R Madrid in the final.
