Football Manager 2012 - Page 8 Empty Football Manager 2012

Post by sodhat Tue 16 Aug 2011, 10:54 am

First topic message reminder :

Just a note (pinched directly from Wikipedia regarding the 2012 installment of FM. I am desperate to get a hold of this and start playing, I missed 2011 out but I fully intend to get back on this social life-sapping horse.

The next in the series of the Football Manager simulation game is set to be the 19th game released and is reported to include 800+ improvements. The new changes (of which only a few have been announced so far) include an improved 3D Match Engine, a new manager team talk system called "Tone" which will enhance your personality in the game and a different way to select the nations involved in your player database which now means that you can add or remove nations as you play.

The final version though, is yet to be finished as it will need the Summer Transfers within the game and some parts just need "finishing off".

More information from press releases is expected to come out in Autumn 2011 and the game is to come out before Christmas, but if the development stays on course it will be released (like previous versions in the series) in late October to early November 2011. A handheld version is also widely expected, but hasn't been officially announced as yet.

Started a new game with Blackpool, playing a very high pressure style and a very direct style. Has worked a dream, biggest win being 9-2 so far. Top of the league and have only lost twice.

The board originally gave me a £2.5 million transfer budget but increased it to £14.75m in October so I've signed Collison from West Ham for £8m, hoping he'll be able to replace Barry Ferguson.

Nearly 15m budget with Blackpool???
I felt lucky that Dortmund increased my budget to 4.5m!

Bought Luis Guilherme in so far as he's about the only player my wage bill will allow.
Still 3rd in the table but Bayern are romping it, have got Ajax in the knockout stage of the Champions League after finishing behind Arsenal in the Group Stage and knocking out AC Milan.

Decided to go for an Arsenal save to see I can try and achieve what Arsene Wenger has failed to do for so long, win a trophy.

So far, I've sold Arshavin and Chamakh for 18 Million combined. Sent Benayoun back to Chelsea and in the process of selling Rosicky, I expect to sell a couple of the reserve goalkeepers and bring in an English youngster to be 2nd choice. One of Abou Diaby and Aaron Ramsey will probably find themselves surplus to requirements also.

Playing a 4-1-2-2-1 formation, I've brought in Debauchy to be my 2nd Right Back at a cost of 4.2 Million. Van Bommel is set to join for 2 Million, a short term fix but the sort of thuggish, nasty man they need in the defensive mid role. Got a bid in for Gary Hooper, looking to bring in two strikers as reserve to Van Persie.

Then to my planned big signings, Mario Gotze who my scout says his best position is AML which suits me fine and then a top quality central midfield player who I haven't quite decided on yet. If anyone has any suggestions then fire away.

CM? Eriksen was always good at either CAM or CM for me. Or Hamsik. Great player

Eriksen is one of my options, Thiago from Barcelona and Fellaini were the 3 I was thinking of at the moment.

My scout thinks it will take £49 Million to get Gotze, so that could have an effect!

I'd advise for a cheap AM to have a look at Pablo Sarabia from Getafe. Cost about 3m to buy but will rocket in value.

My scout under-estimated, Gotze cost 60 Million though that was negotiated down from 83.5 Million. £30 Million initially and another 30 over 48 months.

Went for Eriksen as well, 11.7 million. Signing Smithies from Huddersfield as back-up to Szcescny.

My Arsenal file 22 games in and im top of the table by 2 points ahead of Man City. Also in the league cup final against West Brom coming up, got Everton in the 4th round of the FA Cup and got Sporting CP in the 1st knockout stage of the champions league.

Seasons going well Very Happy

Well you've got no chance there! Wink

Had an offer for Sagna of 19 Million from City and I'm debating whether to accept it. Brought Debuchy but I'll need another right back agai if I do sell Sagna

Ha bring it on Wink

I'm now 10 games left in the season and 6 points ahead of man city, Cavani and Vela have kicked into form so a returning from injury Van Persie is stuck on the bench.

Beat Everton and drew Newcastle away in the 5th round.

I was getting £15.5 million offers for Sagna but he does a job so no need to sell him.

First season gone like a dream, top of the league but Southampton are only a point behind. My next match is against Manchester United in the Carling Cup Semi Final and I'm not exactly confident about it.

Taylor-Fletcher already has 33 league goals which is amazing but my next top scorer is Tom Ince with 8, have just signed three brazilian lads as well, Giovanni who used to play for Man City and two others whose names I'll post later on.

Just completed the trebble with Arsenal Very Happy

Carlos Vela turned out to be a gem this season, chucked him in for 2 games when others hit by injuries think he returned 3 in 2 then 5 in 3 so played him in rotation for the rest of the season and ended up with 20 goals or so, Van Persie had 25 or so, Llorente 17, Cavani 20 or so. Not a bad strike force there..

He's really good on Football Manager for a Championship side.

Carried on my Blackpool game yesterday, got promoted at the first time of asking finishing second behind Southampton. My league cup run although great as I won and qualified for Europe was a distraction and took away focus from the league.

This transfer window I brought In Anichebe, Rosicky, Diaby who were all transfer listed. Currently sat 8th after about 4 games, only lost to Arsenal so far.

Still plodding on with Dortmund in the 1st season, Bayern just romped the league by some margin, still 5 games to go but they're 17 points ahead of 2nd, I'm 2 points behind 2nd in 4th place presently but I am about to face Man City in the Champions League semi final after despatching Chelsea 7-4 on aggregate in the quarter finals (3-2 at home, 4-2 away!).
Transfer wise my budget is still poor, brought in Teemu Pukki from Schalke just as back up striker and the likes of Raheem Sterling on loan from Liverpool with the aim of acquiring him at the end of the loan.

Yeah that's my problem with Norwich Gregers. We increased capacity to 30,000 after the first season and fill out for EVERY game for like four seasons and are making a profit of 1-2 million a month. But they still won't increase the capacity/build a new stadium. Feel as if it is beginning to hold us back from making a real push for the title/europe due to wages being low etc

I did an ultimatum to expand the stadium (given the club loves me and how much success I've bought them) the board fired me and half the players and staff left. Safe to say I didn't save afterwards and went back to just before the ultimatum but wanted to see if they'd budge.

The stadium of light is too god damn small!

I went back on my Football Manager after not playing for a month or so because of exams, and in my first game Nene got sent off in a game against Ajax in the Champions League, in the first half, for a second booking, for a dive!!! I couldn't believe it.

Luckily Ajax got two players sent off and I won the game 2-1.

I'm only in October at the moment but my squad, despite being massive, has been torn apart by injuries.

Just bought myself FM12 off Amazon for a tenner as a treat for finishing my exams, and I've already completed my first season with Wrexham! Scraped into the play offs with a 5th place finish in the BSP, after I lost the least games in the league but I drew something ridiculous like 19 games. Shocked

Finally got my formation sorted into a 4-4-2, which got my team playing a lot better compared to the 4-5-1 and 4-3-3, I had been trying. So I was in form going into the play offs but I crushed Fleetwood 6-3 on aggregate (after winning the first leg 4-0) and Grimsby 3-0 in the final!

My bets value buys were Ben Thatcher on a free and Alex MacDonald for 26k from Barnsley! I missed a goal scorer though, hard to find someone with decent finishing at that level though. Any tips?!

Today on the 1st January 2018 I stepped down as Norwich manager. Cry

I really feel as if I have taken them as far as I can, which is the Champions Cup group stage and 4th place. Asked the board to increase the stadium/build a new one and they didn't despite us filling out every week, and being in a very healthy financial situation. So I felt it was time to leave. Now I am still the England manager and have the World Cup coming up this summer. Time to win that for us.

i started a new game with leeds, was just out of the playoffs at xmas in my first season and then went on a great run to nick second on last day of the season.

went up and they gave me a budget of 10 million which i was able to bump up to 20 threw selling some players like snodgrass for 5 mil. got in torres (mexican not the spanish one) in january of first season. and then revamped my whole team with cheap and free signings. best signing so far has to be james rodriguez from porto for 2.2 mil, he was transfer listed even though he's one of the best left wingers in the game!! got sanagoo on a free to partner torres and diame from wigan. best defender was burdisso who alos was very cheap from argentina. and got asenjo as a free after he was released from athletico madrid.

just coming to the end of my first season and i have just won the fa cup (helped my some huge upsets like bury knocking out united and oldham knocking arsenal out) by beating everton in extra time and im sat third in the league with one game to go with city and liverpool below me with games in hand. if i can win my last game im guanteed champions league football but its everton away! all this and with the lowest wage budget in the league!! my anual salary is 12 million, even less than norwich and slighty less than citys at 121 million

Still doing preseason for the 2nd season with Dortmund.

Arsenal came in with a 28m bid for Kagawa which the board went ahead and accepted without me having a choice, but then Kagawa turned them down on personal reasons. Attempted to buy Podolski but his signing on fees were ridiculous and talks broke down.
Just had a bid accepted though on Eriksen but now Kagawa is possibly not leaving I may decide not to pursue it and concentrate more on a better keeper.

My third season at Leeds didn’t go as well as my second despite me signing doumbia and corchia with the champions league money. Ended up getting knocked out early in the fa cup which wasn’t great as the holders. Got to the final of the league cup but got beat by arsenal. And ended up 5th just outside of the champions league. I did manage to win the title for man united though which im sure the Leeds fans weren’t too happy about. Final day of the season I had spurs at home who were 3 points clear and had a plus seven goal difference. I ended up beating them 5-1 and united won 3-0 to take it on goals scored!! The one positive was quarter final of the cahmpions league at first attempt considering I had juve and real Madrid in my group.

End of the season and fergie, wenger and redknapp all retired and di matteo was sacked. I ended up applying for all four with united laughing off interest, Chelsea going for moyles and spurs and arsenal offered me the job. I ended up taking the arsenal job.

First thing I did was have a massive fire sale, getting rid of Walcott for 25 million, nani for 25 million, vermalaen for 12 (getting on abit) gervinho for 12 and loads and reserves and squad players for 4-5 mil deals. Got in pastore who was kindly transfer listed by psg?!? Cardoza as an extra striker and n’diaye? (young French striker). Also nicked a wonder kid from leeds that I had bought a french regen player. With the likes of ayew, rvp, ramsey and wilshere already there and still 85 million to spend of my transfer budget! Currently top of the league having had a tough start with Chelsea, city and everton being my first 3 away games

Woodley Sports, a team 2 leagues below Blue Square North / South beat BRENTFORD in the FA Cup. A team 5 leagues below Brentford and with a team value of about 80k beat a team value of 2.8 million 2-0. EXPLAIN!!!

I'm Woodley Sports + i used a 442 with counter strategy, they had a goal disallowed at 1-0 up. 5th in my league.

Brentford 11th in league 1 and i held them 1-1 at home, glad i did tbh :P funds are fun!

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!!!!!!!!! bring on Hartlepool away! ( from prelims to round 2 Smile )

lost to hartlepool 2-1.

won the league, won a few minor cups, lost to grimsby in fa trophy round 2.

got rid of guys i knew i wasnt gonna keep for next season.

season 3 starts and i got a backup striker a ( DR, MC) guy and my main keeper is officially an England Under 19 bench keeper! hes worth 33k where as the main 1 is worth 990k and is at arsenal! Level 7 ( 1 below BBS / BSN ) is looking good. need a decent fa cup run though again, losing 10k a month....lucky i got 100k in bank Smile

Had a go at being Swansea manager. Just finished my first season, 14th, but only one point away from 11th. Quarter final of both domestic cups.

Signed Sergio, Josh McEachran on loan, Jay Spearing, Moras (Greek centre back), Paul Stalteri (a Canadian right back), Soukouna (free transfer French striker). Brought in Luuk De Jong in January, went up and down really.

After the first year, a lot were unhappy about lack of first team football, Lita, Spearing, Gower, both back up goalkeepers. Got rid of the two goalkeepers and Gower, Lita and Spearing both out on loan.

Brought Caulker back on loan, signed James McClean after Sunderland were relegated for £1m, and Tom Cairney for £3m, he was Championship player of the season and David Albeda on a free transfer. Will probably stick with that team for now.

Play 4-3-3

Short passing, quick tempo, high line, control, fluid, roaming, creative.

Linked with a lot of jobs, the ones in England throughout the year when managers were sacked, and a lot of Spanish ones who were rumoured to be losing their managers. Amazingly, Guardiola has left to manage Spain (who I was laughed off from), but I'm one of the top men linked to Barcelona. I will regret it, but that's strange to see my name linked with them after just one season with Swansea. Laugh
