Miranda Empty Miranda

Post by Guest Tue 16 Aug 2011, 4:32 pm

Is it just me or is this show just not very funny?

I can't believe the amount of props and plaudits, not to mention awards this tripe gets.

What is said at script meetings?

'tall fat ugly bird pops down the gym now and again and sporadically breaks into song' ...repeat next week!

Somebody back me up here!

The first series was pretty poor, the second series was much better I think. It's not the greatest show on earth but from time to time it does get me laughing, so can't be all bad.

It's pretty much silly setups and overacting, but it kinda does it quite well.

It feels like it owes a lot to old comedies like 'Allo, 'Allo and Hi-Di-Hi. I can help but giggle at it. Sometimes simple comedy can be fun.

I actually quite like Miranda Hart, but she was much funnier in Not Going Out and on panel shows, I have tried watching this a few times and it has failed every time to make me laugh.

Eh...no, well I certainly don't find it funny. I can't stand the way she glares knowingly at the camera as well. That just isn't funny either. In all fairness to her, there are very few funny sitcoms on the BBC these days, and she has no competition really at the moment.

11.20 always has my in hysterics.

I think she's funnier as Miranda than her character in Not Going Out, but I love both comedies.

I remember watching the Kevin Bridges episode about when he was on holiday. That and the D in Reginald D Hunter's name standing for Delicious are probably my favourite bits.

I quite like Miranda. I watch it thinking this is crap - but can't help but laugh at it. The one where she is in the gym actually had me weak with laughter!

I really enjoy Miranda - though I couldn't tell you why. I usually hate that kind of cloying, family friendly, BBC, My Family slot comedy show, but Miranda genuinely has me laughing from start to finish.

I think it's genius how she's taken such an old style of sitcom and made it work, and all the awards are testament to this.

As Greybeard syas - sometimes simple comedy can be fun.
