Ryle Nugent and Tony Ward are looking at that squad and thinking, thank phook they’re not in our group. Some pretty tricky names to pronounce in there.
But on the other hand, they’ve picked the Fonze’s grandson, which is nice.

Does anyone know anything about these players other than Jacques Burger?
Jacques Burger is obviously the standout player in the squad.

First time us McGrath's from wesht Cork have ever seen our name used as a christian name - Mcgrath van Wyk, Wow! The cousins in Bandon will be intrigued!
Certaintly the most evocative names I've seen in a rugby team for yonks - some straight out of an Agatha Christie novel - David Philander, Ryan de la Harpe, Llewellyn Winkler. Brings back memories when the Aussies had Clyde Rathbone on the wing and Sterling Mortlock in the centre.
Great names, great stuff.

Peter George North was born in Norfolk England because his father was serving in the RAF at the time, His mother Janet who is my first cousin jokingly tells people that George wont forgive her for that Dave his father is a England fan.

Don't suppose Egbertus O'Callerghan is a dim and distant relation of our Donnacha - maybe the Namibian immigration man mispelt the surname

Re: Namibia Name Rugby World Cup Squad
On a more serious note, this is how the iNamibia.com site reports some of the team
"There are no major surprises in the squad that will be captained by Saracens flanker Jacques Burger.
Besides Burger the squad includes 12 other players who play professionally for clubs in South Africa and Europe.
Some of the notable foreign-based players include flanker Jacques Nieuwenhuis who plays for French club Aurillac, Western Province flanker Rohan Kitshoff, Leopards winger Danie Dames and former Pumas wing Conrad Marais, who currently plays for Cape club Villagers.
The squad includes 13 players who represented Namibia at the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France.
Namibian coach Johan Diergaardt said it was a well balanced squad that was well prepared.
“It’s a well-balanced team with a good mixture of youth and experience. We don’t have a great World Cup record, but I think it will be short sighted to compare previous World Cups to this one. In the past we only had up to four months to prepare, but this time we had two years to prepare. We have played in the Vodacom Cup and IRB Nations Cup competitions. and I believe we will bear the fruits of our preparation,” he said.
