First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Stephen Jones photo on the bar. That's a banning offence

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Can't even get onto the site. I bet they aren't able to cope with the amount of people trying to get on.

I assume you mean the TMO? Don't see what was wrong with it really. Right outcome was reached by what is a grey area. TMO remit needs to be clearer and addressed.

I agree Stag, the jurisdiction of the TMO needs to be addressed,I originall thought it was the wrong move by the TMO but I kind of agree with what he did now.

I can't help but feel its double standards. If a TMO had ruled out that France try they are so fond of complaining about they would have been happy out.

I think the TMO should be able to rule on anything he sees in the last few phases. Obviously the question then becomes, where do you draw the line? But I agree it needs addressed.

I know I'm going to get told off for talking rugby in the pub but I am so pleased for Isaac Boss. Apart from the fact that I think he has played his way into the squad, how great will it be for him to play at the RWC back in NZ.

Do we think he or Murray got TOL's place?

You need three hookers, three scrum halves, but one open side. Bonkers.

(and that applies to Wales and Ireland by the way)

The difference is openside is no longer considered by coaches to be a specialist position. The thinking of what constitutes balance in the backrow has changed as has the way the backrow is viewed. I would be happy with Ferris playing 7.

And yet when Ferris, Wallace and Heaslip played together in the 2009 Six Nations we won more turnovers than any other side Smile

I do think we can potentially be exposed if Wallace is missing. We need to be aware of contingency plans to counter that. That'll be interesting.

And imagine how many more you'd have had if you had Jennings!

Rugby never moves on, it just goes round in circles. Open sides go in and out of fashion as do props and proper second rows.

I suppose my main problem with the Welsh squad is the lack of imagination in the forwards and the reckless gambles taken with the backs, if that makes any sense.

One or two more but we'd also probably be a Grand Slam down.
