The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Stephen Jones photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I do think we can potentially be exposed if Wallace is missing. We need to be aware of contingency plans to counter that. That'll be interesting.
That's what worries me. Powell is an 8 and nothing else. Jones can cover second row I suppose, but Turnbull and Tipuric are more than capable of filling holes at 6 if necessary.

I think the issue is we don't have a really top class 'traditional' openside. If we had the likes of David Pocock, well I couldn't get him into the team quick enough.

Rugby never moves on, it just goes round in circles. Open sides go in and out of fashion as do props and proper second rows.
I suppose my main problem with the Welsh squad is the lack of imagination in the forwards and the reckless gambles taken with the backs, if that makes any sense.
One or two more but we'd also probably be a Grand Slam down.

Pocock would struggle playing for Ammanford seconds because the other 7 forwards would not give him the freedom he needed. Jennings however would be a top class open side if he played for a super 15 franchise.

Right, that's all the 'stuff' sorted out I took the day off to do. Howya prop - did you have a good break down in Cornwall.
I'm very pleased that the cricket team didn't take their foot off the gas and gave India another hiding. Now if only the rugby boys can get the same attitude
On a rugby note, I thought there were 3 cracking tries at the weekend. Alan Wyn Jones' score after some great approach work, especially by North. Great handling by France for Heymans' effort, and Bienvenuti's for Italy after some great handling that I didn't think Italy in them.

Nice one
Get my first view of the new look Wasps on Saturday, when we take on Treviso at Dry Leas (Henley's ground). Its where the A team play their fixtures, but is blydi awkward to get to. Well for me it is.
Looks like we've found a pub in Henley that may well show the Tri-Nations decider beforehand
Sorry glas, how bad am I

Yeah obviously, possibly espn may have it but both stations are probably thinking that they are not really going to draw many people with this match.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
In all these warm-up games I don't recall anybody getting cited or even a incident that I would regard punishable by a lengthy ban.
Players must be on best behaviour and that's understandable losing your place to injury is one thing losing it to stupidity is unforgivable.

You might appreciate the peace before everyone else turns up
Cooo, it's quiet here. I blame Kidney picking a decent Irish team....
I also read that McFadden's only 5'11". That's not much taller than me. He looks bigger on the telly.

Well if he's stood next to DOC...! I've only really seen him in action, as opposed to standing for the anthem so maybe it's cause he's broad.

Evening, getting ready for another night under the stars.
PSA to take over from ML after the RWC.Bru and Lagisquet should be the forward and backs coaches, but Toulouse chairman,Bouscatel, isn't keen on losing Bru.
No mention, as yet, of PSA's replacement at RCT.
, altough there has been talk of Tana U returning.

Always struck me as living off his pace Rev. Although thats not a bad thing, that can scare and hurt teams. Just need more at the top level. I really, really hope I'm not talking about the wrong guy!
Why do you ask? A shock Dragons move on the cards?
I'm thinking about going to this;

It's received zero publicity!

Possibly. I'm not sure We were linked to a winger from SA, but not sure if it's him.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I checked it out and it was the guy I'm thinking of. He'll burn most players up here on a dry day with a hard ground, how he fares with a barrage of high balls on a stinking wet night I don't know.
