The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Stephen Jones photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Well done Staggy, both clubs have 13 players in their respective nation's RWC squads.
The Crusaders have 11 All Blacks, plus (presumeably) 1 Samoan rep.

Alright then? Just about over my five night bender. Detox not really making a difference yet.
Just in work writing a letter to the centre in North Wales to thank them. Had to do it as we tried breaking the midnight curfew on Thursday night . Off to Dragons v Leeds tonight. Should be good. Be good to see Adam Hughes at 13 anyway.

Stag, I hadn't looked any further than the first day of Top14,but on the other hand, they'll get loads of home games in before Christmas, when they'll be missing most of their international players;swings and roundabouts

Just got the following all-staff email:
OW! Where's Rava when we need him?
All,
A serious accident occurred in the basement garage yesterday with a cyclist who failed to dismount his bicycle and did not see the garage shutter closing.
Please be advised that all cyclists must dismount their bikes when in the garage – this is a Health & Safety requirement.

Yeah, I'm getting fed up with fb. Only use it to communicate with family in Hungary, Singapore and NZ.
So you sent the application off... how long before you hear anything back?

No, it's after lunch here (2:30pm). We're just not exciting and interesting enough!
Yes the application has gone...who knows when I'll hear anything...whenever anything comes available I suppose. I'm not going to think about it until I hear from someone.
I don't mind Facebook, although I'm not a massive user of it. I never do/say anything really exciting to post, and I only have 50 or so friends on there. I use it mainly to keep it touch with distant friends and updated on my favourite teams/players.

Shoite day,,
Got pulled into an investigation about my actions today, I left my post for a fag, and other things. The matter had been referred to HR. That's not the biggest worry, the fact I have three weeks on probation left is. Makes it very easy to turn and say thanks for coming but no thanks

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Right the main oroblem, how they see it is, I brought the company into disrepute by getting a fine from the council while in work,
I accepted the fine and went on my way happy to pay it, however other people got involved and ended up with the manager of the dept. in the council getting involved by ringing my manager to tell him that although I was fined that I was not to worry about it because he will make sure its reversed.
So by me getting off with it the company found out and now they want to flock me over it

Right, I'm off to play netball, weather look miserable out the window .
Dreamer if you're in, I think we may need a new pub later this evening too (though given how quiet it's been today, maybe it'll last until morning)

Cari - fingers crossed you here something back soon
Micky - I know I've said it on fbook but Happy Birthday!
Hughie - hope everything ends up okay with work
And hello everyone, I am really not enjoying not being able to access this site anymore at work.
In other news, I'm heading off home this weekend for the bank holiday and should be getting my season ticket at the same time. And I think the Scarlets' new jersey is being released tomorrow
Edit: Kiwi - no worries, saw that it was getting near the end earlier when I popped in on my lunch break

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Hughie - hopefully things will work out for you. The fine being imposed in the first place could be put down to accidental behaviour, it's just one of them things, and I wouldn't say it was gross misconduct. I'm not sure why they'd have an issue with your fine getting reversed, unless there was something dodgy involved - like a council official was doing you a favour (nudge, wink...). Have they advised you that you're facing a disciplinary or anything?
Thanks Dreamer. I'll let everyone know what happens if there's any development.
Bummer about the lack of internet access too.

Evening pub.
Cymro
I wasn't expecting that 'punchline'.
And a happy birthday to Thom and mickyt.
This got me depressed...from Wasps's website
"Tom Rees suffered an ACL rupture in a pre-season game against Agen. He has had surgery on the injury and is expected to be out of the game for 6-9 months.
Rob Webber experienced some groin pain in a pre-season game against Agen but is making good recovery and should be back in contention for selection for the opening game of the Premiership season.
Joe Launchbury and Joe Burton suffered concussion symptoms in a pre-season game against Agen. Both have resumed non-contact training and are likely to be fit for selection for this weekend’s final friendly against Benetton Treviso.
Sam Jones suffered a stress fracture in his foot in training last week and will be out for 4-6 weeks.
Dan Ward Smith continues to experience problems with his back having suffered an injury at the end of last season. Dan is currently seeking further medical advice on the injury and the club will be in a better position to update on his condition in due course.
Joe Worsley has experienced a flare-up of a neck injury which has prevented him from taking part in training in recent weeks. Joe will receive further medical advice on the injury in the coming weeks and the club will update on his condition as soon as a definitive prognosis is made.
Dom Waldouck continues his rehab from a torn Achilles suffered last season. He is making good progress and is on course for a return to the game in October.
Ross Filipo damaged cartilage in his knee but is back running and likely to return to full contact in the next three weeks.
Elliot Daly continues to recover from a nerve injury in his shoulder suffered at the Junior World Cup this summer. He is being regularly monitored but no fixed time-frame has been set as yet on his return.
UHugo Southwell who hasn't yet featured for Wasps since signing over the summer, is expected to be in contention for this weekend's game against Benetton Treviso."
How unlucky is Rees?
With him, Worsley, DWS Webber and Waldouck crocked, plus Daly and Launchbury having forced their way into the 1st team last season, we have half a team out before a ball is kicked in anger.
Southwell looks likely to start against Treviso this weekend.

Bolix. Normal stuff in pro rugby. 20% in the close season rising to 30% of squad in mid-late season is normal.
