Terrelle Pryor drafted....

by the Oakland Raiders. No surprise there. Mad Al loves size and speed and Pryor has them both. Pryor did say prior to the draft that he would play another position if asked and there was talk of him being moved to WR -- apparently he ran a very fast 40. Oakland got him for a 3 round draft and he was the only player selected in the supplemental draft. I wonder if the Raiders envision him as a QB or another position.

Thoughts?

He could be a total bust, but then again he could be a real steal in the third round...

I've seen this WR talk as well... just seems a little strange to take an out and out QB and convert him...
I know it gets done a fair bit (Randell El is the first that comes to mind, Armanti Edwards another) but it just seems counterproductive to train someone at something they clearly aren't the best at

But anyway, classic Raiders!

I saw his try out and he looked quite impressive, well poised and accurate.
He's only cost a 3rd rounder so not a huge price to pay.

3rd rounder is a steep price to pay when you don't have a 2nd or 4th rounder next year.

They obviously feel they're weak at QB and he's worth the price.
Plenty of trading to be done this year and next all before draft, I don't see them going 3 rounds without a pick

It was only a matter of time really. At some point though the Raiders surely have to see that speed & size doesn't automatically mean star player. Wait a minute I forgot this organisation is run by Al, disregard previous comment as Al does what Al wants regardless of logic

I can see him being used as Brad Smith was last year for the Jets, playing special teams a bit of WR and some wildcat/reverses. I think a third round isn't too much to pay for a player that can do all that, but as usual only time will tell.
