The poll cannot cope with the Manics track, damn you unnamed person that picked it!

Surprised that with the normal type of music picked on this that Brown Sugar by Rolling Stones wasn't someone's choice. Other songs I thought my have popped up were Goldigger, Red Red Wine and Supermassive Black Hole.

I voted for Seal, Prince and Spandau Ballet.

That's a great list of tracks - was really hard to make my choices

Supermassive Blackhole I did consider, totally forgot about Brown Sugar though!
Brown Eyed Girl I was amazed no-one picked.
I was also tempted to go proper old school and have Silver Machine by Hawkwind.

Brown Eyed Girl was my second choice, gutted I didn't remember Mr Blue Sky - I love that song! (and it is winning)

I remember when I was about 7 or 8, my Mum would play that over and over again! I think I could probably sing it word for word almost

Its a cracking tune and trust me I have no love for De Burgh

How about Orange Crush by REM, Pink Sunshine by Fuzzbox, or Green Door by Shakin' Stevens?

Oh and if it weren't for Don't Pay the Ferryman, I'd happily have Chris de Burgh sent to a Siberian gulag for the rest of his life.
