After discussions with FOF, welcome to the first season of the 606v2IPL.

Basically this will run similarly to other Sports Games with every member of the league taking charge of an IPL side and competing for the title. Firstly I would like to see how much interest there would be in this league.

There are 10 slots available as there are ten teams (Franchises), however I will be taking one of the franchises so 9 other spaces remain. (Now 0 left)

Umar Akmal never keeps wicket :P

Yep, shanky wins the guessing the Pakistani game! Lol

Umar Akmal has kept wicket for Pakistan and several times at club level

He's not a regular keeper though only needed if there first-choice Keeper is injured. Saying that he's probably better than his brother.

Well I'm thinking of playing him as a keeper if I can get him in the auction. Sort of in the AB de Villiers role.

I wouldn't tbh, De Villiers keeps quite alot. Akmal only does on the odd occasion

Langeveldt for £250k
and
Collingwood for £200k

lol so we could be looking at the very real possiblity that stuart broad wont be invovled :/...

not sure whether to bid for johnson or not..........

gregers u no said about changing pitches, well in india obviously where these games would have been played, they are always pretty much dust bowls anyway

pitches tend to be spinner friendly or flat, rarely help fast bowlers

hence why sub contient teams usually struggle against quality fast bowling, and i have a good pool of quality fast bowlers

Must admit I was surprised you weren't online. I bought the both of them (ajmal and mendis) just for the fact that spinners are vital in T20, and in India they'll be a lethal duo.

I've got one spinner Vettori but could do with another especially if it's on a spinning wicket

I'm going to play 3 front-line spinners on a turning wicket.

i think i might have the best bowling attack at the moment

Ha, Ajmal Mendis and Ashwin, backed up by Southee/Albie Morkel might have something to say about that on a turning pitch.

im not done with my signings yet, my pace attack is awesome, with iqbal abdulla and mishra backing up, hopefully tahir

Really not happy with the whole auction process, missed out on a player through not being about, safe to say I'm going to miss out on a few more too.

The next two days are the ones I'm more interested in, at work till 11 and 1 respectively, I'm just not going to be able to compete!!

Cannot wait to unleash my four pronged spin attack! Swann, Karthik, Singh and Hussey! Plus Tait and Thomas, maybe with a bit of Franklin and Ryder on the side! Now that is an attack.

Welcome to the league MFC, can you make your own Kings XI thread so you can make changes to your squad. Liam add the £300k to your teams finances as per my offer for finding a coach.

Shock of the day? Me thinking £500k was a lot for a player this morning (Ajmal) then Swann going for £620k this evening!

Auction day 2 will open tomorrow around 9ish. I will put up a Tuesday Auction page so no bids before that.

not surprised Swann was expensive TBH, he's the best spinner in the world, and spin is so important in the IPL, so he was always going to fetch a lot of money. My attack could do with a high quality spinner, but don't think the Indian ones are for sale...

It was the amount that surprised me!

Well over a third of the starting budget.

I have my eye on three players to finish off my team. And Swann was one of them! Plus he is a great bargaining tool if I wanted to trade him away because I would get a huge price for him!

Swann (due to controversy in the ending of the auction last night) will continue to be up for auction today.

JDizzle and Shanky are the only two coaches allowed to bid for him

But then you have the problem of when can the last bid me made? I suppose it's just unlucky if you can't make it, not everyone can be pleased unfortunately. If you said 'you can only bid up to 8.50' then people would just bid at 8.50 instead of 9.

What was the controversy about regarding Swann? Did shanky not see the bid I placed on Gregers' behalf for Swann? Apologies if he didn't, I'll take the blame for that one I should have been more clear that I had bid for him.

I couldn't see where the bid of £610k from you on JDizzle's behalf was...

I think if we just allow Shanky and JDizzle to sort this out (Maybe have him open til 1?)

Yeah I think the best bit is to leave Swann available today but only for Shanky and Jdizzle to bid on, that is the best course of action.
