Insua leaves for Sporting Lisbon
Liverpool left-back Emiliano Insua has joined Portugal's Sporting Lisbon on a five-year contract. The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, and after the arrival of Jose Enrique earlier this month, found himself further down the pecking order at Anfield. Neither club has released details of a fee for the Argentine, who joined the Reds aged 17 in 2006.
"Sporting is one of the big Portuguese clubs," he told Sporting's website. "I am delighted. The club is looking to win titles and I will give everything for Sporting."
Insua made 62 appearances in his time at Anfield after joining from Boca Juniors, scoring a solitary goal in a 2-1 Carling Cup defeat by Arsenal in 2009.

Shame that he never really established himself, especially as he was probably better than the last two who tried to take the left back spot in Dossena and Konchesky. No place in the side for him and I'm glad we're getting rid of some of the dead wood now.

Good move by Liverpool. Wouldn't ever trust Insua defensively if he was in my team, but he was good on the ball and going forward. Plus Kenny seems to be happy with his full backs right now, seems to really be building a proper team with depth. Full credit to him for how he's turned it around.

Poulson... One of the worst signings I have lived through... Though I don't think it was much money? Or was a free can't remember.

Think he might end up going end of season aswell, don't know where he fits in anymore especially when you have Stevie G back. Not a bad player to have in the squad but get a feeling he'll wanna leave due to lack of first team action.

Oh right! I was fishing around online and couldn't find anything for that! I thought you were being a bit of a wind up merchant!
Don't think thats good for a Chelsea perspective... Quality for Liverpool though.

Dont get why Sturridge isn't given a chance at Chelsea ? And with Lukaku and Mata coming in he's getting pushed further back .

Re: Insua leaves for Sporting Lisbon
Lukaku will play right in the centre, Sturridge most likely out wide he was suspended for the first 3 games... So not sure if he might get a decent shout. Mata scored on his debut and looked quick and sharp might start. Big problem is who starts in the centre? Drogba or Torres? Think Malouda Mata Anelka and Sturridge battling it out for the wider roles... Lot of competition

Yes Chelsea have a so many good players it will be hard for Sturridge to get a decent run in the team , Do think they might get rid of a few before deadline but then again they might buy some more aswell , money isn't a problem to them is it .

Re: Insua leaves for Sporting Lisbon
Spent more than City in the whole of 2011!! £30 million more... They need to have success.
Sturridge will stay through this transfer but dunno about january and possibly on loan again...
Lukaku looks a dead cert replacement for Didier, 18 and bigger than him?! He's a truck.

Bah... Wouldn't have paid for him but he'd probably do a better job than Bessone! Wouldn't trust him without the ball even at Championship!
