World cup poem. Empty World cup poem.

This is my feeble attempt at a world cup poem

There once was a cup named William Web Ellis
Holding it made everyone jealous.
The tournament would be held every four years
For countries to pip their best against their peers

The All Blacks were the first winners
In South Africa we could only watch it over our TV Dinners
In 1991 the Ozzies won it spectacularly easy
With a final try from David Campese

The came nineteen ninety five
When the Springbok came alive
They won it on their first attempt
Tackling jonah Lomu with contempt
Joel Stansky won it with a drop
While Andrew Mehrtens’ was a flop.

In the next final Ozzies competed with France
In the final they won with a song and a dance

In 2003 it was turn of the Northern Hemisphere
As England turned it up a gear
As Wilkinson attempted all the goals
And they all flew true through the poles.

They say 2007 was a bore
The springboks did their chore
In their victory not a try was scored
That’s why everyone moaned they were bored.

So come the next world cup
Who will put their hands up
Will it be the All Blacks with a Try
Or will they be denied
for their hands will be tied
As someone else will have the kicks fly.

Their last four years have been a bit of a mess
But there is one side which couldn't care less:
When you've driven them in disorder to their very last trench
That's when I say, "Watch out for the French!"

He's not at his best, but he's more than a waterboy
When the going gets rough then they call for Harinorduquy...
