Levedev vs Toney!

It is being rumoured that James Toney is to fight Denis Lebedev on Nov 5th in Moscow, Russia.

Is this another legend heading for a beating or does Toney have a chance?

I'm guessing this would be at heavy seen as Toney could probably see his own Johnson the last time he could weigh in at cruiser.

He's weighed over 250 for his last...how many fights?

OK so not over 250 so often as I thought but still fat and weigh above 200.

CRUISER apparently as Toney was already training for some MMA match that did not materialise. Apparently, he weighed 215 lbs last month.

Hmmm, not sure how much Lights Out has at any weight, burning off all that fat probably won't do him a world of good either.

I see a Lebedev UD in a fight where Toney makes him look very, very ordinary.

I agree, especially as its in Russia and dont appreciate the purists form of boxing.

If Toney could beat Lebedev then he could probably turn over all the "champions" in that wretched cruiser division. Lebedev is arguably the best cruiser out there and was badly robbed against Huck.

Toney's defence and remarkable chin will guarantee that there's no knockout here, I'd think, but while I expect him to frustrate Lebedev at times, he simply can't pull the trigger anymore once he has a man reeling. I see Lebedev winning a dull fight by a fairly comfortable decision if it goes ahead.

The last time I seen Toney he was in an MMA cage getting choked

You have to favour the Russian, but if Toney is in shape and his style has always been about skills and savvy similar to B-Hop rather than reflexes, then he could well turn this guy over.

Levedev did knock out (the shell of )Jones, but that was in the last round and until that point it had been competitive and Jones had rocked Levedev in the previous round prior to the KO finish.

This is more about what James has left and for 50% of him would school this guy.

He'll have to lose 50% of himself just to make weight.
