First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the collage of great modern open-side flanker pictures on the bar. We've got Dusatoir, Jennings, Pocock, Brussow and McCaw up, all in action "pilfering pill". Graffiti's a banning offence Wink

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Ale cider guinness coffee mug cuppa Bubbly RedWine

Bore da pawb / good morning all, happy Rugby World Cup! Very Happy

I was miffed (or more resigned) when Charlie Stayt on BBC Breakfast said 'the Rugby World Cup kicks off in New Zealand today - we'll be assessing England's chances.' How hard would it be for him to have said 'the home nations' chances?' The average viewer would be forgiven for thinking that England are the only home nation taking part!

I've just had my lovely brekkie Smile As I was cooking, I was listening to the radio (am sat in front of the TV now) and they had Will Carling on there. Absolutely useless! He had no idea what he was talking about - even when he was asked about England! Just goes to show that not all former players make decent pundits.

Lucky/Glas - they were like that on the BBC yesterday - lots of talk about the England team and only a brief mention of the fact Wales and Scotland were playing this weekend, and no mention of Ireland at all. At least Chris Evans asked Will Carling about all the teams....Carling just didn't have a blydi clue.

Yahoo

Just seen the Welsh team. Undecided over it at the moment, but chuffed for Rhys P he's got the nod at 10. Huge ask for him mind.

Will have to analyse it all a bit later, but I can't see me not being on here during the day at work today, I'm just to excited!

Got to Run to the office now

Came into work, went to the canteen to make a cuppa as per my usual routine and what do I see, all the lads in facilities feverishly pulling all the blinds down to show the RUGBY WORLD CUP (!!!!!!) on the big screen. Kick off is 9.30 (aka breakfast time!!), what a start to the day! Yahoo

I'm really happy with the Welsh XV. We're going out to win the game, not to keep it tight and hope to sneak it. It's about time we backed ourselves rather than trying to negate the opposition.

Opening credits will do Pete aye. Was very good. I couldn't think what it was called though.

I also like this Nikon ad song after that Eddie Izzard marathon thing, so I really am like a bottle of pop this morning. If that Budweiser ad comes on now, I might spontaneously combust.

Pete - yeah the ads will be annoying. We'll be sub consciously reciting the tag lines to ourselves by the end of the tournament!

Does anyone else think that Renault Clio ad is pretentious wa nk? I hate it when people try to be "arty" Rolling Eyes

I thought they were showing the ceremony...
