The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the collage of great modern open-side flanker pictures on the bar. We've got Dusatoir, Jennings, Pocock, Brussow and McCaw up, all in action "pilfering pill". Graffiti's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

I love World In Union as an anthem.
That version was good, but I have the one from the Invictus soundtrack on my phone by Overtone with Yollandi Nortjie which is just awesome.
Got your tweet Y I and am following the forum account now

Agreed. I was hoping to see it all. And when they are showing it at least explain what's happening and why.

Nice!
Here, was Penfro going to the opening ceremony? I know he had tickets for some games and all the finals.

My brother (not a rugby fan at all!) just text me there.
“hey Mikey, I see the world cup is starting today, you must be very excited, that’s like your crufts!”

No ads on the Fox3 channel... and very subtle commentary.

Make tea? Need the loo? Now's the time to do it because at least they'll show the whole match without ads.

My sister bid for it in a charity auction somewhere and gave it to me as a Christmas present. I think she was peed at the time and ended up paying some ridiculous amount!!!

ITV have put me in a bad mood, the C**ts
I was so looking forward to seeing the opening ceremony, and I get five flocking minutes of it. Doesn't help that Steve Ryder keeps telling me how good it is. I reckon I've got grounds to sue for false advertising in their program notes.

Pete - do you wash it? I don't own any signed shirts, and I'd be afraid to wear one in case I washed it and the signature faded.

I am indeed in work but the nature of my new job means that I have a lovely big screen TV in front of my desk
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Hughie - I reckon they'll get to seven before kick off. As long as they show both the Hakas as well. If they don't I'll be raging.

Breaker - sounds like you're very luck with your ads or lack of them then!
The Beeb live text is a bit pants so far, hope it improves for when the match actually starts.
Hughie - try and not let ITV get to you. Easier said then done I know, especially for me when just the site of Steve Ryder makes me

There'll be a 90 second break after the Hakas and before kick off.

I agree with him. Not at Pro level. Its all about making the first tackle. e.g. Quade Cooper should move to 15 on defense for Aussies.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I thought the new ITV touch screen wasn't going to work there ha!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
ITV shouldn't be allowed to show sports. You'd think after 20 years of c*cking the WC up the organisers would look to another broadcaster.

I would have thought the wing. It's true that they are much less likely to make the tackle head on, but your 15 may well save your bacon!
