The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the collage of great modern open-side flanker pictures on the bar. We've got Dusatoir, Jennings, Pocock, Brussow and McCaw up, all in action "pilfering pill". Graffiti's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

For me Scotland and Fiji games are just not going to happen, sorry! That's going to have to be provided by the ITV Player and/or highlights. I'm also working tomorrow from 9.30 so may miss a large part of the England game. Maybe not. Depends on how busy it is.

well they lost a lot of points in Wally Staggy I mean, he would've won it hands down on his own...still, Tommy's there this weekend, so I'll have a squiz at him in his disco shirt....and replacing Chilli doesn't help either....I know it's tactical thing....
Dreamer - I'll see how I do if I manage to stay up for Scotland and set the alarm for France. I'm going to be very tired for the next few weeks...

Aye Cari that's what my plan is going to be I think. There's just so much rugby going on, I hate to miss any of it!
Notch - will do.
Ooo I've also just remembered, I need to see if I can make any changes to my fantasy Pro12 team. I had a shocker of a first week, must do better this time round.

I'm not too bothered, Cari. There's four of us in our office, the other three have been invited, but I wouldn't want to go even if I was invited. But it might be nice if they invited me all the same.

You need to ask your managers if you can shift your working hours from GMT to New Zealand time. Then its just a simple matter of disciplining the body clock!

That's the point Lucky - let you decide if you want to go or not, being asked would've at least, been polite. I think it's just rude that you don't even get asked if you'd be interested.

Stag, I honestly think it's because I'm not seen as worthy of inviting. After all, all I do is run the office, answer the phone, take care of ordering supplies, make sure there's enough fuel in the yard, type up everyone else's scrawled notes and make spreadsheets for clients, while they're out on site.
But like the Murphy's, I'm not bitter

Im gonna go to watch Limerick FC play tonight - do my part for local Irish soccer.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
We had an end of season bash last year which was good, but I was invited to that. I don't really want to have to ask when it probably hasn't crossed their mind to invite me.
Maybe they haven't invited me because they know I'm on here all the time...

Nah forget that Luckless. Say it to them in a casual way. "I hear we're having a work do?", "What date is Xmas party etc".
Why should you miss out

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
That does seem a bit harsh they haven't asked you Lucky.
Tis a bit opposite at work with me, the social workers always invite us admin staff to work lunches during the day or farwell lunches for staff members, hasn't crossed their mind though that we can never go as we have to man the phones and field all their calls for them. They're always surprised when the admin staff can't make it

Remember Bees Roux, the Saffer prop accused of killing a policeman? The case has concluded. Found guilty of culpable homicide, pays the widow 750000 Rand and a five-year suspended sentence.

You should probably direct comments at that article...

I'm office administrator for the Newport depot of a construction company, Stag. It's not very exciting and it doesn't pay well, but I'm grateful for a job in the current climate and my colleagues are a good bunch. Apart from their rampant bigotry, of course.
I have to say, you've done well for yourself with your job!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Nah Cymro they just walk to the nearest pub/cafe for a nice 2hr lunch, while me and the other poor admin staff are stuck at our desks. To be fair to them though, they very rarely get the chance to actually take lunch breaks, so guess the odd extended one once in a while isn't so bad

Exactly any job is worth having. I HATED my last job so so much but was glad to have it. Yea I was lucky to get this. It felt strange to point out my 606 contributions to a potential employer A risky move but it paid off.
So yes if you ever want to head to a top class match or take a team on tour you know where to find me.

Office politics suck. I've had some sheet in some places, but it's made me tougher I think. And perhaps somewhat cynical...

I keep typing and sending messages and then walking away from the puter only to discover ages later that they didn't send because something else had been posted in the meanwhile.
Still not quite used to this site yet.
Either that or I'm stupid.
Or both.

Stag, unfortanately Longford won't do their part for you. I suspect you will end up like MrsP was in today's match! Watch out for Joe Gambele, brilliant player,Denis"The Behanator" Behan will grab some goals. Both are on ridiculously high wages too.
