First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the collage of great modern open-side flanker pictures on the bar. We've got Dusatoir, Jennings, Pocock, Brussow and McCaw up, all in action "pilfering pill". Graffiti's a banning offence Wink

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Ale cider guinness coffee mug cuppa Bubbly RedWine

oh yeah Hammer the last try was a stunner, all came from a great turnover by Rennie.

I'm still in love with the Romanian lineout though. Worked like clockwork, just brilliant.

I really do not like what they have done to some of the anthems, that's the Scottish and now the French one I really don't like the sound of.

oh my goodness Dusatoir must be annoyed! He's running great support lines but 3 mistakes by his team mates means he's missed out on 3 try scoring passes, but France do get at a try finally.

Not sure how Medard was allowed to get up and carry on playing with the ball there though??

ah Micky you should ahve done what I did and gone to bed at about 10 to get up for half 1, really pleased I did it.

Japan have got some really exciting runners in their backs, but they keep making silly errors whenever they get even slightly deep into French territory.

Bore da pawb / good morning all, decent first half but I can't really get into it. It appears that Andy Gomarsall's been instructed to talk non-stop over every replay whether he has anything worth saying or not.

As for Scotland, they got a bonus-point win. Job done, ultimately.

It's not a big deal, Dreamer - a more exciting match and I wouldn't notice it!

Really looking forward to Argentina - England. If England have sorted their midfield, as the game in Dublin suggested they have, then they have a back three that can play some very good rugby indeed. That said, they might choose to take it through the forwards to make a statement there.

I think this match is really exciting! brilliant try by Japan there, and they held the french up twice over their own line (I still think the 2nd attempt was a French try)/ Loving this match.

Morning Risca - Commiserations for last night, mate. Aironi next isn't it? Hopefully the Dragons can get a good win against them. Smile

Isn't Andy Gommersall really nasal when he talks.

Yo!!! Go Japan - they're on the attack again. I'd love it if they won even though my SG picks would go out the window.

That's a horrible game for them in their current mental state. They were expecting to lose in Ireland, now they will be expected to win. Of it goes wrong in the first quarter it could be a disaster. I don't know what has happened to them. What they lacked in physicality or skill they used to make up for with spirit. Now it seems they lack leadership.

Not a great performance was it, Rev? Tom Riley will be very lucky to keep his place, that's two poor, poor games in a row. Some really aimless kicking didn't help us either.

This game has come alive!

Ah it's alright Cari. I'd expected a defeat, just maybe not by 21 points. Aironi next week yeah. On Saturday, so I've got to rush there after playing rugby myself.

Yeah he has to Lucky. I don't know where this kicking has come from either.

Next week's atmosphere at Dave will be edgy, I expect. I don't think we generally perform well in games we should be winning.

My word Japan are plucky. I'm loving this. I'll have to watch the Scotland game later. Woke up on my settee right on kick off, but had to go to bed as I was done in.

Very pleased the Romanians gave such an excellent performance in defeat and happy the Ulsterman in Scotish colours pulled them over the line. Got pretty close in my predictions for the other 2 games so reasonably happy. England/Argentina anyone?

I went to bed during the Fiji and Namibia match, Willy, no way I could stay up for all of it! Was flagging at the end of the France v Japan match so have just had a shower to wake myself up.

Eng v Arg - really close for at least 40 mins I think (or I hope!) can see England cutting loose 2nd half though. Them to win by about 10-15 points.
