If Bellew is Euro level and Clev is way above him does that make Clev world level, and if so based on what exactly. A domestic level fighter against a euro level fighter at the minute and I amy be being generous at that.

That's about right rowley. There's one reason Bellew was chosen as a last stand-in originally, and that's because he's a very beatable live opponent. That's it.

Haha thats funny that, they called the police cos Bellew was threatening him didums.
Cleverly SCARED!!
Infact it was the hotel staff who called the old bill. Probably worried about property damage if a fight kicked off. Nathan didnt even see the squaring up as he was doing interviews
Good attempt at making stuff up though lads. Cant fault it

They probably thought Bellew was nicking cutlery! You can take the boy out of Liverpool and all that...
Calm down, calm down Soldier lad!
Only winding you up mate! You going to it?
Boxing is really buzzing up your way just now a World champion would be excellent for the city.

Here is the Cardiff press conference. Poor sound quality but around the 14 minute mark Bellew starts going nuts with a reporter

Doesn't say much for Cleverley does it that he's taking on someone so beneath him that he stands no chance especially when there are 10-15 better opponents at the weight.

Not what I've heard steffany. I heard smug clev went to smell his own fart and realised he cacked himself. Then daddy phoned the police then started to act all hard

Fellas, before this gets ugly and personal, could we take it down a notch, please ? No harm done, yet, but I can see the storm clouds gathering.

Think it is an opinion supported by the evidence, Cleverly is yet to beat a world class opponent or a genuine top ten guy at the weight and Bellew has far from proven himself the best light heavy in Europe.

I give credit when its due Truss...did you see the second fight between Bellew and McKenzie where 'Sugar Ray Tony' put on a masterclass in beating Derbys answer to Earnie Shavers. And as 'Sugar Ray Tony' said..."McKenzie is world class over 3 rounds". I dont get that comment mind. Kinda like saying your a world class footballer for the first 3 keep me ups you can do. Clevs got his work cut out though with 'Sugar Ray Tonys' lighting fast hands, smooth footwork, and dynamic power. Clev is so scared he phoned the police apparently...

Bellend isn't even Euro level that's the problem! Clev is between Euro and World. Like some kindof purgatory state. Clev to go back to long divsion and geometry if he loses this!

I can't stand either of these two, so actually don't care who wins.
Two Welshmen fighting each other, it's like chosing between death by drowning or burning to death.

Not true. Karo Murat was in the Ring Magazine top ten when Cleverly beat him.

Sometimes it sounds like you've been supporting boxing for 8 days! The fight makes money. It stinks but there we are. Vitali will take Haye. Haye doesn't deserve it but it makes money etc.

So you openly admit that Cleverley isn't interested in taking on the best then and fairly sure a fight with a top ranked light heavyweight would make far more money than a relative nobody who's not that well known in his own country.

Re: Bellew tries to headbutt the Clev
Which top-ranked LHW?
This is the Warren route. There's 5 years to go before Cleverley will be matched with a top-ranked or a once highly ranked LHW. Before that he will fight the Bellew's of this world.
Alternatively Bellew wins and so Warren as his promoter wins too.
Stinks but there you go.

Re: Bellew tries to headbutt the Clev
You people really dont understand business do you. The idea of a champion (an alphabet one I agree) nowadays is to make your money first. Take a couple of defenses, build up a record, make your money to set yourself up for life, then go the big fights knowing win lost or draw you can support yourself if your career goes seriously off track. This is what Clev and a whole load of other boxers do. Its called business sense fellas. Im not saying its right and im not saying its wrong but thats the way it works

Re: Bellew tries to headbutt the Clev
I understand business very well and this fight doesn't make sense to anyone but Warren who pockets a bigger percentage with two of his fighters involved, Cleverley would make more money fighting a better opposition and makes his world title meaningless.

True that Ghosty. You know I'm with you on this.
One of the reasons I like Fury. He genuinely seems happy to fight anyone; certainly domestically - but knows he isn't ready for a Klitschko test - ie has an accurate impression of where he is in the world but tries to keep improving. Commendable - but rare these days.

All im saying is that I have no doubt Clev will probably take on a few 'not so hard' defenses. Just dont make out he is the only one doing it in this business. I think he is world class though. If you dont then wel just have to agree to disagree

Re: Bellew tries to headbutt the Clev
Quite clearly he is not world class if he feels the need to fight the Bellews of this world, to be world class you have to prove yourself to be at world level not beating up a domestic level fighter who has no business being involved in a world title fight. He is far from the only one but after all his talk of wanting to fight the best you can only laugh at him when he takes a fight like this- Hopkins, Cloud, Pascal, Dawson, Syllakh, Shumenov and Diaconu must be quaking in there boots.

Don't quite get u really.
Firstly, I have a decent knowledge of boxing, not vast, but certainly more than happy to be told if I am wrong on anything, but in the main I am only offering an opinion.
Secondly, I am hoping you deliberately spelt MiddlesBROUGH wrong???

When have I openly admitted anything of the sort? Bellew is a simple money fight, shut the scouser up and move on to better things kindof a fight.

Where are you quoting me from? No understande!
Anyway I aint saying it's a proper world title fight but a world champ looking for an easy payday against an overmatched opponent - hardly anything new is it? Would only be dissapointed if after another 3/4 defences Cleverly is still fighting muck like Bellew.

I don't think even Bellew thinks he can win.....The first press conference was half hearted bravado and that sad waste of space headbutt was another example of trying to show Cleverly he's not intimidated and yet failing badly...

There really is no excuse for a world champion to take a fight like this, were it Khan or Froch choosing such a poor voluntary defence I would also lynch them for it.

Anyway, no one, probably, but when you are trying to make a joke about somewhere, you should at least learnt to spell it right, that's the point I was making.
And, I already explained that as far as I was concerned, Liverpool is in Wales - this of course is not truthfuly the case, but I was making the comment in a jovial manner - hope you understand now!
