England vs India 4th ODI Debate
So the 4th ODI is about to be underway.
1 change for England, Steven Finn comes in for Jade Dernbach. India going in with the same xi that lost a close match last time around.
Finn for Dernbach, I think is a good move, this being Finn's home ground, he should know the conditions pretty well. And he's a real wicket taker, although he may go for a few. Dernbach has been bowling too many slower ones these days, and the Indians seem to have decoded him to some extend.
India going in with PK, Munaf and RP Singh. Can't understand the logic of it. When will Varun Aaron get a game?
England winning the toss and bowling, on a track that should offer some early help to the pacers.
Your thoughts??

Looks an interesting one again.
Looks like the rain will hold off.
I have a feeling this is the last game in this series. We'll have been lucky to get three.

Finn has started ell, good pace already from him, close to 90 MPH.
And India offer the 100 MPH thunderbolts from Munaf Patel and RP Singh!. Nonsense!.

MUch better start from India... looking good today.
I have a feeling this will be there day. I think it's their last chance to get a result and I just have an inkling they're going to do it.

Patel and Rahane are better off playing some traditional ODI cricket, nothing much flashy with the new ball, as the ball is doind a bit at the moment.

Finn looks hungry out there, bowling really quickly and his action looking nice and strong. Conditioning work done its job?

Interesting move from England, Bresnan is not sharing the new ball, is it because he got stick in the last couple of matches?

didn't in the last match did he msp? Just think England want to see Finn given a go, see if he can make the Indians uncomfortable...

Good to see Finn given a go he's waited a long time for his chance.
Re: England vs India 4th ODI Debate
i know he has started off well here, but i dont think finn should be playing odi cricket like chris tremlett...I think they are both better test bowlers, and tremlett is good example he tried odi cricket didnt work and has made him better test match bowler...i just dont think Finny is an odi bowler, but i like him in test cricket.

Re: England vs India 4th ODI Debate
Commies saying Finn should have been in the team in the test series... Erm, would that be the series in which England dismissed India 8 times without them ever exceeding 300? Thought so

Re: England vs India 4th ODI Debate
Nice pace from Finn today,
Nice watchful stuff from India.
Belting pitch again by the looks of it. 300 plus par.

Re: England vs India 4th ODI Debate
Test places are hard to come by for England now. Finn's done well for his county in one-day cricket so I think he deserves a go.
Re: England vs India 4th ODI Debate
top edge from patel four runs, anderson starting to bowl too short.

why is Jimmy bowling short?

Re: England vs India 4th ODI Debate
costly over.. looks a belter of a pitch. green top? hardly.
it's going to be a big big chase for Eng.
so, 2-1 series win to eng then i reckons.

Finny over 150 kph, impressive! edged between the keeper and wide slip, one of them should have gone for it...

i tnink they will get 300 though. i like the look of their young side and it has to click for them eventually.
i can see eng chasing 250 but not 300.

Didn't you say he was a genuine quick test match bowler or am I thinking of something else?
Re: England vs India 4th ODI Debate
he is an out and out fast bowler. look at his pace 94mph reguarly hitting 90+

Re: England vs India 4th ODI Debate
these two openers look good don't they. confident to the point of being cocky buy in a "you can't touch me" kind of way. Bloody hard to get out.

Against Englands bowling line-up I doubt India will get 300, 250 is more realistic.
Re: England vs India 4th ODI Debate
yeah you're probably right Liam.
It all comes down to the start doesn't it.
If these two stay in for 30 overs it probably will be 300. Lots of work to do for the bowlers having put them in on what looks a fairly flat wicket to me.

Re: England vs India 4th ODI Debate
tms feel india are in control and will be happier.
do these commentators ever back england though?
i don't think so, they seem to be fawning over India a lot this summer.
They could have been out a few times already really. Good bowling unrewarded.

TMS have been critical of India most of the summer. The application of the senior members in the test team was so poor, that the commitment being shown by the younger players has come as a relief to everyone.
Nasser Hussein however on Sky has been wetting himself whenver India did anything good.

Yet two posts later you contradict yourself by saying the have played and missed and could have been out a number of times.
Make your mind up.

this is pretty horrible cricket from Rahane, but he keeps getting away with it, England have been incredibly unlucky today

i think swanny should be brough on now, early, change of pace they might go after him, but a change of pace could be good i feel..

Re: England vs India 4th ODI Debate
Rahane hasn't really looked his usual self today, hasn't been middling everything, and the timing wasn't quite there. He has gone on the attack to good effect this over against Finn here. Hopes all those runs will let him settle down.

actually that's probably fair, i'm going by the text feed but yes i've mostly listened to the very excited Nas on sky to be fair.

Looked scratchy didn't he? Almost like he got incredibly frustrated because he couldn't get off to a flyer, so he tried slogging his way out. Odd sort of innings

huh? they could have but they still looked confident and played nice strokes. Well more Patel to be fair.
calm down dear.
I honestly feel Indias young talent looks really impressive and this series is givng them a chance to emerge, it's positive.

Indian commie: "a little bit tough on the bastman" talking about Rahane's LBW decision. Really? Just because it's not crashing into middle-stump doesn't mean the umpire can't give it out you know, hawkeye had it taking out a decent part of leg stump. Daft comment!

A 50-50 call going England's way, India and Rahane had their share of luck, now its England's turn.

I don't think Patel should be allowed a runner for being unfit... Nasser and an Indian on commentary really doesn't work does it? So incredibly pro-India; Nass, you do know you actually captained England don't you?

Patel now gone, short ball by Broad which goes straight up in the air and caught by Bopara.
Re: England vs India 4th ODI Debate
I think they're banned from next year trebs. Broad strikes, and gives Patel a bit of a send-off, England a bit annoyed at Parthiv I think
