Pitch Conditions: Hard and dry, the ball will seam around and offer assistance for the quick bowlers throughout both innings. Will probably be a low scoring affair.

If
i win the toss i would bat first....Reason for this is, that yes the
ball will swing and seam at the start, but only for a couple of
overs...Sohal will look to dig in, while dilshan will look to be the
aggressor early on, The pitch will get harder to bat on as the game goes
on, with the ball turning more as the game goes on.

I have
batting a long way down, steyn at 8, and give it a real hit, and on a
pitch where it should be a low scoring affair, i feel my batsman will do
a good job. Can be versatile with the order, if lost early wickets,
hussey will drop down the order so have ammunition towards the end of
the innings.

Dale Steyn and Pattinson will open the bowling,
both will bowl 2 overs at the start with balaji first change. I chose
balaji cos he is a very good SEAM bowler dont need much pace just
nibbles it around off the pitch. Dilshan/ hussey will bowl the final
powerplay over, with tahir and shrikant wagh bowling once the powerplay
is over. Tahir will bowl out, balaji will probably bowl 3 overs, with
hussey/dilshan probably only bowling one over. Steyn and pattison will
bowl the final 4 overs, therefore completing their allocation. Shrikant
wagh will bowl if needed, to chip in with a few overs.

Selection:
the swinging conditions mean that Davies is dropped so the experienced
pair of Ganguly and Karthik will open the batting. Just one specialist
spinner (Sharma) in the circumstances, but plenty of seam and swing
options with Zak, Gony, Woakes, RTD and Collingwood all enjoying the
conditions. Experienced batting line-up to counter the hard batting
conditions. Also plenty of depth there, with Woakes batting at 8, and
Gony is a useful lower order batsman in this form of the game (averages
14, SR over 130).

Bowl first if we win the toss, as the experienced batsmen should do a
good job at chasing the low score which we will keep DC to.

Bowling
tactics. Zaheer Khan and Chris Woakes to share the new ball. Zaheer
will look to bring the ball back into Dilshan, who we saw was
uncomfortable against this in the recent series against Australia. We'll
be looking for early wickets, to expose a middle-order which, David
Hussey aside, doesn't have that much real quality in it. Zak will bowl
two overs at the start, with Gony replacing him, while Woakes will bowl
through the PPs. The middle-overs will be shared between RTD and Colly,
who should enjoy the seaming conditions, with Rahul Sharma providing
some spin. Zak and Gony to finish off at the death. Basically, DC's
batting isn't that great, so we'll be looking to take wickets
throughout.

overs breakdown:
Zaheer Khan - 4 overs
Chris Woakes - 3/4 overs
Manpreet Gony - 4 overs
RTD - 3 overs
Colly - 2/3 overs
Rahul Sharma - 3/4 overs.
roughly, though of course this would ba adapted depending on how everyone goes.

Batting
tactics: if Steyn is having a good day we look to see him off at the
start with our experienced openers. But as we know Steyn is inconsistent
so we will look to cash in on the scoring opportunities he presents.
Karthik will look to bat through the run chase while Ganguly and KP will
be more aggressive. Then the middle-order is flexible, with Akmal and
Colly interchangeable depending on the situation. Finally, there's
plenty of firepower down the order, with the trio of Chitnis (T20 SR of
170!), RTD and Chris Woakes (remember that pull shot off Tait?). Gony
and Zaheer are no rabbit either.

damn once again, it wont play into my strengths which is my spinners, tahir, haurtiz, patel etc

gonna take some time for me to figure out a side for this game.

drat was hoping for more assistance to the spinners, or a good batting wicket at least... Oh well, adopt and adapt I guess...

no not really CF, just thinking about my options right now. Basically have two or three ideas of which team I should pick and am tossing up between them (choices such as Woakes + Karthik or Clark + Sharma). I have a fair idea where it's going though...

im struggling t o put a team together at the moment.

On this pitch I needed seam options and batting depth and I think I have the balance right. Happy I didn't let Colly go after all...

Pattinson above Bollinger is an interesting one, I would have gone with Bollinger, but should be a good game here.

i couldnt go with bolliinger, i needed pattinson cos of the under 25 rule.

Tactics:

Bowling tactics. Zaheer Khan and Chris Woakes to share the new ball. Zaheer will look to bring the ball back into Dilshan, who we saw was uncomfortable against this in the recent series against Australia. We'll be looking for early wickets, to expose a middle-order which, David Hussey aside, doesn't have that much real quality in it. Zak will bowl two overs at the start, with Gony replacing him, while Woakes will bowl through the PPs. The middle-overs will be shared between RTD and Colly, who should enjoy the seaming conditions, with Rahul Sharma providing some spin. Zak and Gony to finish off at the death. Basically, DC's batting isn't that great, so we'll be looking to take wickets throughout.

Think Kings XI just have the edge.

On this wicket Punjab have the edge.None of the DC batsman are brilliant against pace bowling.If this was a spinning track then with Tahir in the side and the batsman who prefer spin DC would have had a great chance.

Your batting still looks very reliant on Dilshan. You could do with an achor.

i have some batsman in my squad who can play the anchor role, but i wanted my bowling to be strong for this game so i chose to place more importance on my bowling...for this game sohal will look to bat through at the top of the order.

Sorry but I do.Most would agree with me that he is a slogger.He can still score a few runs but not on a seaming pitch against Zak and co.You should have picked a technically better player but thats just my opinion though

Its your team at the end of the day.

The guy averages 18 in T20, and has 2 fifties from 27 innings, so if it's his usual job to drop anchor he's obviously not that good at it...

Also I think my batting has more depth basically, Woakes down at 8 averages 25 in T20, which is very useful...

My no.8 Ankeet Chavan averages 68 in T20

i surely have a better bowling line up though.....four out and out bowlers, shrinant wagh to bowl seam up if needed, and then hussey and dilshan, offer part time spin along with tahir.
