Well at least now we know he will never win a slam in his career. Congrats though.

He did put a solid effort in at Queens this year.

Hoping he can break through in the rankings in the upcoming years.

Have to admit i was surprised by this, as his mentality seems to have been weak previously, but Well done.

I just hope tennis has become his dream and not his parents.

Good for him, can only be progress. Plenty of good players have come through this route, and plenty have fallen by the wayside. It's got to be better than being incapable of winning it though.

Interestingly his mum Sandra often stays at home and lets him get on with things so she's no Judy Murray you'll be pleased to know (although she is also a tennis coach surprise,surprise).

Nothing to be all that pleased about. Wasn't Jamie Delgado a big name in juniors and he went on to be rather pathetic. Martin Lee also? In fact the LTA has a fine record in turning gold into scrap metal so wouldn't be surprised if he peaks at 104 in 6/7 years time

Quite true Super D Boon, another glorious failure being 1993 Aussie Open junior champ James Baily. I do think it's encouraging though that there are 3 or 4 boys who've had great results in junior slams or the Orange Bowl. Moreover, they all seem to be good mates and hopefully inspire one another to better things. I think past juniors have suffered somewhat from being the one great white hope and having all the pressure heaped on them. Let's just hope that at least some of the current generation can succeed where their predecessors haven't.

Lets hope the press let him develop without putting pressure on him to be the next British slam champion. He was interviewed and his win was likened to Murray's in 04 and was asked about following in his foot steps.
