WBA Light Welter Champ
Simple when the flip did Maidana win this belt :S and 2nd how on earth did somebody ever convince the WBA to sanction a World title fight between him and an unranked lightweight whose only has 1 fight over 12 rounds and last 6 or 7 have been either 6 or 8 rounds.
Ok judging by the WBA's policy of having a different champion for every day on their calendars I shouldnt really be surprised, but this is taking the biscuit just ever so slightly. As every day passes I grow more and more fond of the WBO and more so the IBF.... not that they are perfectly honorable either but still,

McLucky will sort him out, don't worry.
As long as the fight is in Belfast.

I thought opponents for World titles had to be ranked in the top 12 or 15 or something like that though to be sanctioned, or have I just made this up.

It's the WBA, they can do what the hell they want.
And they often do.

Utter garbage, isn't it?
Maidana gets his ears boxed off by Khan and suddenly finds himself 'champion'?
Completely discrediting the sport, if indeed it was possible to do so even more than it already has been.

It's discrimination if only the winners get the title.Fists of Fury wrote:Utter garbage, isn't it?

Re: WBA Light Welter Champ
I personally like it, what the sport needs is more of a school sports day approach to titles, where there are no losers and it is the taking part that counts and every kid goes home with a belt. Would guess getting punched in the face for a living off someone reet hard is a pretty upsetting way to make a living, giving everyone a belt softens the blow a little, figuratively speaking.
