Who can stop Khan becoming p4p no 1???
First topic message reminder :
Timing is everything in life and this kid has timed his career perfectly....
Huge at his weight with good skills, great jab and an already quality record and young to boot!! Not just that he's hugely marketable and tends to excite!!!
By the time Mayweather calls if he does...he'll be an old man facing Khan in his prime!!!! I see Khan beating him if Manny doesn't....
Hoppo will be long gone....Froch's good but not a World stage kinda guy!!!
Just seems destined for the top slot.....and Britain should be proud when he gets it....Never had a p4p no 1 before..

They were good wins yes but are they that good that Alvarez couldn't achieve similar? That was my point. He could fight Cotto, Margarito, Bundrage, Dzinzurik, Matorisyan, Lara, Angulo even Williams. Then you have the possibility of Berto or Ortiz moving up to 154lbs in the next few years.
Cotto, Margarito and Williams are the biggest names but are all well past there bests now so victories over them means less than the guys De La Hoya was beating, the others are decent but nothing special, people tend to forget that the light middleweight division was very strong around 2004.

Balti, I have no reason to doubt you, you come across as an honourable sort of chap. I'm just saying the version that I saw didn't contain any of that stuff and I was wondering if it had been sanitised by the powers that be to prevent us from witnessing so much genius, it turned us blind.

Dave, simply pretend to have read a derogatory comment from Trussman, mention this, and he will ,like a spaniel continually running into a mirror, spend more of his time panicking like a big girl's bra and scuttle off the the admin team to assist him. Maybe this will limit his articles down to only ten a day.

I'm not sure the bodies who decide who gets the mythical p4p strap would be too interested in that aspect of things

Anyone think Roach's Parkinsons getting worse over the years to come could affect his ability to train thus affecting the chances of Khan rising to the top?

Andy, he says he doesn't write these comments due to an excess of class however, the truth (this will be the same truth that hurts) is that he doesn't write them because he then gets involved in slanging matches where he invariably comes off second best (often third best...even when there's only two people arguing), then he sulks for days, retires from the boards, reinvents himself, comes back to the boards and regurgitates the same old articles which leads to name calling which leads to him coming off second best and then he sulks for da......you get the picture!
Keep and eye out for it, you'll see it soon enough

I know it was good but it wasn't great. All I was saying is their is the fights around to get Alvarez to P4P#1 as long as he keeps improving and stays active because he's only 21.

For Alvarez to get there he'd have to rely on Donaire, Gamboa and Khan failing at some point which I can't see happening with the way things are panning out, there aren't big enough names out there for him to beat except for Martinez who most probably wins easily.

Donaire and Gamboa are a lot older than Alvarez he's only 21 they are in their late twenties.
Khan won't fight Manny and this thread is based on him beating an old Floyd which I can't see happening. I can't see Floyd getting in the ring if he knows he's not got it any more his zero means to much to him.
With this thread being so presumptuous say Berto and Ortiz move up to 154lbs in two years time and Manny and Floyd have the pipe and slippers out who is their for Khan then? Floyd aside the level of opposition available to Alvarez and Khan are pretty much the same.

Spot on
No way does Floyd take a Khan fight when Floyd might lose, the only reason he would fight on past his best would be money and if he was a bit strapped for cash he would have made the fight with Manny happen. Also a fight with Bradley has gone now seeing as he brings squat to the table unless he moves up to Welter and wins some belts before Khan gets there. I don't see who Khan can beat to move him far up the rankings at Welter at the moment and also he is not ready for Lightmiddle so he's a bit stuck. I would have thought Donaire has a much higher calibre of opposition available to him if he got his ass in gear and fought more than twice a year.

You can lose any fight.....Sure Floyd believes like all greats he has the beating of anybody..
Have to remember that after Manny and Ortiz...Khan is the next big fight..
and he won't fight for peanuts..

Khan will get KOed the first time he tangles with any top level WW who can punch. Alverez will be the man to pick up the Mantle when Manny goes off to play politics.
