News on Tindall
First topic message reminder :
Just saw something about Tindall on SSN, seems like something about going out on the town after the Argentina game, but couldn't hear what they were saying. Anyone get any news? I'll keep looking, but just wondering if anyone knew.
Found something on the Sun's website (it looked like the Sun on the SSN story):

Re: News on Tindall
Yes - they were lucky that the referee tolerated 11 deliberate cynical professional fouls before issuing the now standard 35th minute England yellow card, rather than the average of 7.
I wonder if it was the higher rate of deliberate desperate cynical try saving professional fouls that caught the ref off guard, or whether this is the usual bias against England leaving the tournament early to save the advertising revenue?

Probably the first one.

Neither. Its not deliberate or cyncial ( in all cases), nor were there 11 "try saving" penalties. Dont mistake being rubbish for clever play.

Believe me, I didn't mistake England's game plan for clever.

Again youre mistaking what happened for what they intended. Any gamneplan relies on execution and discipline, England having been showing that when sides have been agressive toward them.

Re: News on Tindall
...is to resort to giving away penalties.
Penalties happen deliberately. You can't pretend it's incompetence to give away that sheer volume of penalties under pressure. It's a calculated decision, maybe a subconsciously programmed one, that is so ingrained, but you don't "accidentally" hold on to the ball, or throw yourself off your feet from the side and roll on top of the ball, or grab hold of the opposition 9, or go offside and impede the opposition strike line.

Re: News on Tindall
yes it was rubbish, yes some of the players really need a smack round the head with the rule book, yes the Georgians played well, yes it felt like England were all over the shop.
But, we still won.
But, they can only get better.
But, unlike the All Blacks England in the RWC usually do get better

When you say "usually" I presume you started watching rugby in 2003, or suffer from some kind of selective amnesia.

your first world cup doesn't count.
you still tailed off in the SA world cup final.
You presume too much.

So if the above is true, teams that give away lots of penalties are serial cynical cheaters, therefore ………
NZ vs Tonga
NZ gave away 14 penalties (Tonga 7), BJ Franks gave away 4
NZ vs Japan
NZ gave away 11 penalties (Japan 11), Woodcock gave away 3
Yet no yellow cards for NZ

The difference being that New Zealand are a competant side therefor its clear they are setting out to commit large numbers of penalties. Imagine if they had conceeded 14 yellow cards for cynical play, and taking the GG theory that all penalties are "try saving" its quite clear that Tonga are the best attacking side in world rugby
Just like Tindall, New Zealand cant help cheating.
