England vs India, 5th ODI Debate

So the 5th ODI between India and England is underway, the last act in a terrible summer tour for India, and an opportunity to win at least 1 international match.
A win for England would be a nice way to cap off a wonderful summer.
India have their regular quota of injury yet again, and this time, its their best bowler Praveen Kumar. R Vinay Kumar, and not Varun Aaron takes his place in the XI.
For England, Jimmy Anderson is getting a much deserved rest, and Jade Dernbach gets another game. Johnny Bairstow, the impressive young wicket keeper batsman from Yorks, is in pllace of Ben Stokes, and Samit Patel is getting another game.
The weather has already resulted in a delaied start, and further trouble can be expected.
Your thoughts?

Game over, these two are just not aggresive enough.

England are well placed, they aren't losing wicket, and they are scoring at almost 6. This is how they won previous matches. Of course there is no Eoin Morgan or Kevin Pietersen in the middle, but even the lower order led by Bresnan and Swann can also give it a go. This one is also slipping away from India I think.

Munaf injured, so there is scope for India to continue to go down.

Any idea how much would England need at the end of 20 overs?

Poor from Cook but frankly him and Trott was making me want to cut my own eyes out (especially the infected one). thank god one of them is gone.

They were batting like it was a bloody test in those overs since the injury.

Mujst say since that painfully slow partnership i see no way eng could get near this total.. 40 runs behind a run a ball and slowing.. rather poor.

They seem happy to plod along and lose to India without giving it any effort today.

Ravindra Jadeja adds another to his list of poor overs that will be remembered by people. He may have done a lot of good in between, but just like those 3 overs in the world T-20, this will be rememberd. Poor chap.

No way India will save this one. one of their main bowlers is out injured although he wasn't doing anything great, and Jadeja's confidence will be pretty low after that thrashing.

What a turn around, England are surely favourites now

Kohli has stepped in well with the ball so far, but can't expect him to continue this way for long.

Lets see what Bopara can do when chasing the game and needing to up the run rate.

unless a wicket falls in the next 2 overs, England to walk this one. Even otherwise, they are strong favorits at the moment.

Even though Bopara did well in the last ODI, he doesnt instill confidence in me that he can kick on and reduce the RRR

Brave or foolhardy from Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja is back on for another over. And he justifies the captain, Jonathan Trott gone. What has young Bairstow got to show us?

I could never be more happy than to see Trott gone.. is anyone less suited to a T20 bash?

Think Dhoni is over bowling Kohli here, but with Munaf out, don't think he has a lot to choose from.

Bopara is the senior batsmen in this partnership, he should be going after the bowlers and reducing the RRR...

This lad Bairstow, is one for the future. Seems to be made of the right stuff.

Think Bopara should as of now, push the single and look for the big one of bad balls and let Bairstow and Samit P and the rest to go for it.

it's doable with a T20 side for sure but this isn't.

still i'd rather india sneak their one win than cruise it.

Yes, England has found a seriously good tallent. He's playing as a specialist batter here, but the lad keeps wickets for Yorks!.

Ashwin's only bowled 3, and I guess 4 bowlers can bowl 7 and 1 can bowl 6.

Don't know why he is persisting with Kohli, maybe Ashwin can't grip it. Massive 6 for Bairstow, we're under a run a ball.
