The 606v2 Quiz
First topic message reminder :
We used to do these quite often on the old 606 so I thought I'd invite you all to join the first 606v2 Wrestling quiz. You should know the rules by now. Once a question is answered another can be asked.
PLEASE REMEMBER - NO CHEATING OR USING GOOGLE/WIKIPEDIA OR OTHER SUCH WEBSITES!!!
To the mods, I hope this thread can be made a sticky and run and run as an endless thread.
To kick I'll start with this:
Only 4 men have ever gone one on one with Hulk Hogan and remained undefeated. Can you name all 4?

I'm torn between three for this. It's either:
Bam Bam Bigelow
Diamond Dallas Page
Chris Kanyon
(collectively known as the Jersey Triad or Jersey Three it think)
I'm going to stick my neck out and go for Bam Bam

Re: The 606v2 Quiz
Got stumped so had a look on Wikipedia for the answers (won't give them away though in the spirit of quiz)
Couldn't find Stone Mountain though.
Also for the Robbinsdale, Minnesota one, it has about ten different professional wrestlers listed. Are you after them all or a specific one?

Re: The 606v2 Quiz
Nah it's ok mate, I've just been checking it out myself. Never realised there were THAT many from Robbinsdale, I'll have to pick somewhere a bit less densely populated by wrestlers next time!
The Halloween Phantom was from WCW. This guy was also an 'insurance policy' for Degeneration X.
It's not Raven, the clue is a line from a promo by this wrestler on the infamous 'Heroes of Wrestling' pay per view way back in 1999, when he was a bit worse for wear shall we say.....
And the man from West Memphis, Arkansas is the Master and Ruler of the World.........."Can we start over?" "We're live pal!"

Re: The 606v2 Quiz
Been off work for a few days, which is annoying as I've been wanting to say since Wednesday night that the first King of the Ring PPV was in Dayton, Ohio.
Robbinsdale, MN is, I believe, the hometown of Rick Rude.
It would be interesting to find out how many of those hometowns are actually factually accurate. Randy Savage is definitely not from Florida, for a start!

Re: The 606v2 Quiz
It's the wrestler's billed hometowns Crips, should have stuck that in the original question, apologies.
You are correct on both counts sir, for that you win a TNA World title shot on next week's Impact!
You'll win the match and the title, but the decision will then be reversed because it will be revealed that is wasn't actually Sting you beat for the belt, it was Ahmed Johnson in a Sting mask. The real Sting will then come out and beat Ahmed Johnson, with the NASCAR driver Jeff Burton counting the pinfall, meaning you lose the match and control of TNA gets handed over to Kevin Nash who isn't even under contract. Sting then immediately loses the belt to AJ Styles after a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors but the result is declared null & void after interference from Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett then tries to renew his wedding vows with Karen, but after an hilarious mishap, ends up married to Kurt Angle instead. Ric Flair then runs out and punches himself in the face until he bleeds before retreating back up the ramp. As the show goes off the air the fans chant "This is awesome!" whilst Dixie Carter smiles.

Re: The 606v2 Quiz
Didn't mean it like that, just meant it's funny how often wrestlers are billed from different towns! I'd love to know how many were genuine. I think they're better with it now but in the olden days it was just whatever sounded good.
I think I remember that episode of Impact. It popped a monstrous 1.3 rating which dropped back to 1.2 again the following week.

Hulk Hogan's hometown was changed to Venice Beach to fit in with his beach adonis look. Undertaker's also was changed to death valley, but again was changed to Houston Texas when playing the American Bad Ass/Big Red. You could look at the British stars of wrestling who have their hometowns change to something more well known so that the American audience knows where it is on a map.
I used to think Parts Unknown was an actual place when I was a child, and never wanted to visit it as all the freaks seem to come from there.

Which leaves just 2, 5 and 12, I think.
One was named after someone who then got injured and missed the event.
One was named after the main event match stipulation.
One was main evented by someone who never won a world title, yet managed to main event five IYH PPVs!

I know the main events for 5 and 12 were WWF title matches between Bret Hart & The British Bulldog and Sycho Sid & Bret Hart. And 2 was probably something to do with Diesel & Sid (Diesel & Bam Bam v Sid & Tatanka???)
Ain't got a clue what they were called though.

Re: The 606v2 Quiz
Legend, you have lived up to your name.
Yes, "It's Time" was Vader's catchphrase and at that point he was heavily involved in the world title picture, so presumably the original plan for that PPV was Sid vs Vader for the title. Then he got injured just before Survivor Series and plans changed, but too late to change the name of the PPV.
British Bulldog was the guy who main evented five IYH events (including four of the first nine) without ever winning a world title.
Your turn to ask a question.
