Never Give Up In Matchplay
My daughter recently played in the Scottish County finals.
Four teams playing.
The second day was disrupted due to heavy rain and the morning foursomes on the third day were scrubbed.
The teams were Dumfries & Galloway, Ayrshire, Midlothian and Perth and Kinross.
When play finished the first three D&G, A, and M. were all tied on the same score.
Midlothian won on total holes up which left A and D&G still tied so it was then decided on total holes played.
I would think that there were 24 ladies contemplating every shot they hit on the way home.

I take it you are a virgin to Scottish Wimmens county golf.
One of the Perth and Kinross girls is also Skip to the Scottish Curling team, at the tender age of 19 [I think].
She was stung on her eye by a wasp on the last day and it swelled up something awful.
She is off to Norway tomorrow for a match and photo shoot with the new sponsors. She is a good looking girl so I hope they do a profile.

I used 'see' a girl who played for East lothian - really bonny girl, and half decent player.
She doesnt even play golf now!!
But of course my above comment was tongue in cheek!

You mean you used to "see" her brains out JD?
Rare to find an attractive female golfer in the amateur ranks. Most of them look like Laura Davies with a voice like Barry White.

At my club, we have over 20 female golfers, ages ranging from 18 to 35, that would look good in any fashion mag, but also their handicaps range from 8 to 23, would love to be picked by any on them for mixed comp.

Re: Never Give Up In Matchplay
Most of the girls who played in the finals were college students.
My daughter is a trim 35 year old and she said that she felt like 'Old Mother Hubbard'.
Some of you guys need to keep up.

Aye Grumpy.
The point I was trying to make [obviously badly] is that in a team event every single shot may be vital.

Re: Never Give Up In Matchplay
I'd only read the title and thought great I can tell the story of winning the club championship. Perfect to balance my defeat from jaws of victory story.
Semi final 4 down with 5 to play - win match on last.
Final 4 down 6 to play - win 13 and 14, halve 15. Win 16, halve 17 and then chip in on 18 to go into extra holes - win on 2nd extra hole with birdie. Played those last 8 holes in 2 under par.
