I'm totally stumped to be honest, I see that Ghosty has provided the initials, but for the life of me I can't think of anyone from that era, with those initials, who fought all of those guys. I don't want to cheat, either, so will return once someone else has cracked it, or when Rodders puts us out of our misery!

I really don't think anyone will get this without looking it up. I completely cracked and trawled through Boxrec until I found the guy...
Like Ghosty, I've never heard of him

Billy Stift
Seriously who the hell is he, looking at his record I can't see how he kept getting fights with these guys, he never won and got knocked out early half the time.
Think you get the honours of posting another question Rodders, that was tricky to say the least

If BS is the clue, I'd plump for Mysterious Billy Smith, or the old trialhorse lightheavy of the day, Billy Stift.

Too late.
Ah well, c'est la vie, and I wasn't sure which one to plump for, anyway.

Thanks, Ghosty.
I couldn't have done it without the clue, though. Stift sticks in my mind because I always thought his name, phonetically, was so apt for a trial horse. Billy ' Stiffed ' and all that.

Well done Ghosty mate, good research. Me neither, always remembered the question in Boxing Illustrated usually stumps the very best of them as like yourselves never heard of him.
Thanks for being a good sport lads

Thanks, Rodders.
There were so many from that period who fought the best men - sometimes with reasonable results - but who never had a moment in the Sun. Tommy West, Peter Maher, Gus Ruhlin, Sandy Ferguson and our own Charley Mitchell are just a few who mixed with top company but have slipped under the radar over the years.

Throughout his career, only four men managed to put Muhammad Ali down on the canvas.
Henry Cooper and Joe Frazier were two, who were the others?

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
Union, I know that at one time one of Nelson's fights held the record for the most knockdowns ever scored, so I'll put that forward as half of the answer. As for the other record, without looking I'm not sure off the top of my head.

Half a point then Chris, he knocked down Christy Williams 42 times on his way to a 17th round KO. (He was also knocked down 9 times himself.)

Armstrong would be the obvious one, I'm pretty sure Pacquiao still held the 'Ring' 140 lb belt when he won his Welterweight crown, and Pernell Whitaker held the WBA Light-Middleweight title (relinquished soon after) while still the WBC Welterweight title holder.
