Pass the Parcel Quiz.

To start: Heavyweight journeyman Jesse Fergusson has fought 11 past/future World Champions and lost to 10 of them, which did he not lose to?

De la Hoya? I know he beat Ruelas, Hernandez and Leija that year, with guys like Chavez, Paez, Molina etc somewhere around then, too.

The very one, Scott ! At least, according to our eccentric Bostonian friend.
Third best middle of all time, for me, though doubtless Trussy could think of twenty seven or so who'd be ahead of him.

Couple of Louis' defences were SCHEDULED for twenty rounds, but as to the last one to actually go beyond fifteen I can only think of Jimmy Wilde v Pete Herman off the top of my head.

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
Good shout, Windy, although I don't think Wilde's bout with Herman was a title fight, was it? Either way, the answer I'm looking for is a wee bit later on than that one.

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
Herman had lost the title by the time he fought Wilde if I remember correctly, Ghosty. Either way, not quite the answer I'm after.

Yes, it's pre-Louis, Ghosty. I'll give a couple of clues; the fight was held in Europe, between an African and a man who originally hailed from Ireland. Should only be a matter of time now.

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
Most say Robinson, although some writers of yesteryear maintain that the term had been used in some publications for Benny Leonard back in the twenties.

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
I can safely plead 'not guilty' when it comes to the charge of oneupmanship, ghosty! Just love a good quiz now and then.
Which world champion made twelve consecutive defences of a world title, but with none of those defences coming in his home country?

Wlad Klitschko has made a lot of defences but none in the Ukraine I believe.

He has bellchees, but not twelve successful defences on the spin, which is what the fighter in question did.
