To start: Heavyweight journeyman Jesse Fergusson has fought 11 past/future World Champions and lost to 10 of them, which did he not lose to?

Which world champion made twelve consecutive defences of a world title, but with none of those defences coming in his home country?
I'd guess it's Tommy Burns, Chris.

Did Ricardo Lopez fight in Mexico or was he based in America?

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
Windy, Burns would be a close second to the name I'm after with regards to this particular record, but his eleven successful defences all away from home fall just a little short of our mystery fighter's twelve. Great attempt, though.

How about Emile Griffith then, Chris, albeit shared among two weight divisions ?

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
Another good shout Sam, but not the right one.
ZX1234, as Michalczewski was considered Polish-German and took out German citizenship, I can't class all of his defences as being away from home, but a good shout all the same.

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
Griffith isn't the name I'm after, Windy. I'll clarify; the fighter in question made twelve consecutive successful defences of his crown, all within one single reign, and this was in one single division.

Can imagine Freddie Welsh wasn't far off that with the ND era

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
Ghosty, I don't count 'No Decision' bouts as title defences personally, but either way he's not the one I'm after.
I'll cave in to Union's question regarding his nationality, and I reckon it will come to a couple of you as soon as you read it; he was South African.

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
And it's Scott by a nose! Mitchell was indeed the answer I was after. Twelve defences of his Super-Featherweight title but none in his homeland due to their apartheid policy.
Over to Scott.

Can anyone name the Japanese boxer who has held a belt in the highest weight division, and name the weight division.

Bellchees, I'm sure I'll be totally wrong, but at the moment I honestly can't think of a Japanese world champion at a weight any higher than Lightweight; Guts Ishimatsu.

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
It depends what you call a world champion; there was a WBF Cruiserweight champion from Japan some years ago; but surely that doesn't count as a real world title?

I unsuccessfully challenged for the WBA light welterweight title twice; despite flooring the champions twice in both fights.
