I'l see if I can put this article back in motion,
I had my first fight, before my son was born and I had my last fight after he retired (from his own pro career).
Who am I?
Cheers

Morning, Rodders and Jimmy,
I took one look at that question and thought I'd be in for a long and frustrating exercise for the old grey cells.
Thank Heavens that Jimmy was one step ahead. Hats off for the question and hats off to Jimmy for solving it so quickly.

Nice one Rodders, I thought it would take a few more posts to get that one as well. I'm waiting to see what Jimmy comes up with now, I reckon this article will be getting the odd bump back up to the top of the page for a long, long time to come!

Morning Windy
Rodders, Windy to be fair only reason I got it so quickly I read the interesting trivia somewhere over the past few months, so I was aided in that way, didn't have to waste the very of the brain cells I have left.. But thanks and hats off for the question, I was originally thinking Tommy Hearns for some reason but I believe his son is still fighting.
I'll have a rattle around to see If I can find a good trivia question to continue, in the mean time if you fellas have anymore. Thanks

My guess would have been Duran, but his son finished a few years after.

Morning, Jimmy.
Funnily enough, Hearns was the first one I thought of. I also ran through a few other suspects, including Buster Mathis and his son, and I was beginning to fear the worst.
Your timely intervention was most welcome.

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
Right, I've got one just while we're waiting for Jimmy. I've formulated this one myself, so apologies if I've missed another obvious example, but I can only think of one answer thus far.
Who is the only boxer in history to be disqualified in two consecutive world title fights?

Good work Jimmy, couldn't get Golota out of my head, but on thinking about it a bit more don't think they were title fights.

Morning, jeff.
I was thinking about Marcel Thil, but as I thought about it I remembered that he had WON two consecutive title fights by DQ.

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
Sorry lads, as Windy's post has just pointed out, Lou Brouillard would have been a correct answer for that, too. Christ, I feel like a right prat now! Quality work all the same though, Jimmy. Will try to redeem myself when the next question is posted.

I hadn't realized that both his DQ wins were over Brouillard, Chris.

Thanks, Jimmy.
Joe Frazier won gold in the 1964 Olympics, but there is something of a twist in the tale.
What is it ?

He hadn't originally made the team, and only came in as a late replacement for the injured Buster Mathis.

Strewth, that was quick, Chris.
Very well done. Mathis beat Frazier in the trials but injured his hand and couldn't go.

Cheers, Windy. Sometimes an answer just comes to you in a flash, luckily for me that was one of them.
Which long-serving world champion of the seventies and the eighties became the first man to box world title bouts in St. Vincent and Papa New Guinea?

Good work, Sam. Pedroza was the man I was after. A proper globe trotter; defences in Italy, England, Venezuela, St. Vincent, Papa New Guinea, Korea, Japan and America. Gave a new meaning to the term 'world champion.'

Felix Trinidad took his zero, like he did with so many. Vargas, and can only think Oscar but that is probably too late.

Trinidad, Vargas and Carr? I know he lost to them for sure, couldn't tell you if they were his first three defeats though.
