Leonard succeeded him in a linear sense, Hopkins was next to unify the belts?

Not counting Leonard, I'd have gone for Michael Nunn, but not with a great deal of confidence.

It isn't Leonard, if memory serves, one of the major organisations wouldn't sanction the bout? I'd have to go with Hopkins

It is indeed Hopkins, not sure but by the strictest definition I think Hopkins is the only undisputed champion in the four belt era

Hagler was in fact stripped by both the IBF and WBA before the Leonard bout

I'm actually pretty sure Hopkins is the only fighter to have held all four major belts in the four belt era (WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF) at any one time... Could be wrong though.

Okay, nasty one. In 1887 ' Nonpareil ' Jack Dempsey beat Johnny Reagan over 45 rounds. What strange occurrence makes this fight ( probably ) unique ?

Sorry I couldn't leave this one as I think I may know it... Didn't this fight occur on a beach, whereby after the fight extended for such a period that the tide came up and the ring had to be moved?
