9 in a month is crazy. I know Zivic had 3 in a week once, could it be him?

Is it Battling Levinsky Rodders ??
I know he had around 40 fights in one year, fits the bill about being tough only stopped by Jack Dempsey

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
Afternoon gents I think I'll try and get this restarted and see if anyone is interested before someone gets banned for trying to kill D4.
Question is who is a more accurate puncher Manny or Floyd? I'm kidding of course. Anyway real question what 2 boxers are tied for the record of most title defences won by KO and how many are they tied on?

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
I'm pretty sure that Chavez is one of the names you're looking for. I know his 37 title fights are a record, so there's a good chance he'll apply to this question, too. As for the other guy, I'll take a guess at Joe Louis, so that would make the figure 22 successful title defences by knockout?

I'd say Louis and someone else on 22?

I had 21 as his number, I'll take your word for it then as it is correct.

Right then, erm...
Who was Argentina's first world champion? Apologies, can't think of any decent questions off the top of my head right now.

I make it 21.
He made twenty five successful defences. Farr, Godoy and Walcott each took him the distance, and he beat Buddy Baer on a DQ first time out.

I'll go for Pascuel Perez as first Argentine champ.

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
I counted 21 for Chavez. Also I think the Joe Louis confusion comes from his fight with Johnny Davis I'm not sure if that was a title fight or not.

Right you are Windy, Perez was the first champion from Argentina. Bit of a 'loosener', that one.

Okay, Chris, I'll set another another ' loosener ' which shouldn't be too difficult.
The greatest recorded weight differential was how much, and who were the fighters involved ?

I'm afraid not, Galveston, though as a title fight that must be up among the bigger ones.

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
One of Gabe Brown's fights must be near, he's upwards of 360 pounds of solid fat sometimes.
Valuev vs Holyfield/Haye must be close for a title fight.

I'll have to check his record, Scott, since it's possible that he's broken the record of the guys I'm thinking of. Until then I'm going to hold out for the guys I have in mind.

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
I believe Carnera outweighed Loughran by something in the region of 90 lb, but given that you say the 98 lb between Haye and Valuev isn't the record, then nor can that be. Stumped at the moment, although will probably be feeling a bit daft soon as you reckoned this one would be easy!

Was trying to think of Carnera fights myself but you've took him out the picture at least

Bingo !
A massive 140lb. difference, but Fitz knocked him out in two rounds.
Bigger than any differential between Gabe Brown and any opponent. HOWEVER, Butterbean outweighed his last opponent by 145lb., ( I had to check that one, ) so I guess it depends on whether we consider him to be a genuine pro as to who gets the nod.
Fairest way is for both of you to set a question. My mistake, and I apologize.
Hey, Ghosty, your Chavez point was no more pedantic than mine about Louis' 21 defences by kayo.

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
As the question doesn't specify that it has to be a title bout, I'll stick with Valuev and pick one of his opponents from before his title days. Barrett and Etienne are the only two I can think of before he took the WBA belt in 2005, so I'll guess at them and take another wild guess with regards to the weight differential; 110 lb?

Incidentally, agree with Ghosty on 17, with an additional technical decision and retirement.

Maybe I counted his winning new belts in which case my mistake. Also I got Butterbean outweighing Daniel White by 170lbs!
