Pass the Parcel Quiz.
First topic message reminder :
Answer a question - Ask the next one.
Lets see if it catches on.
To start: Heavyweight journeyman Jesse Fergusson has fought 11 past/future World Champions and lost to 10 of them, which did he not lose to?

Arkansas Aldiniti?
Nope, but I wish it could be. It's not Alaska Arkle, either.
So what do we have ?
He fought at an age over 60
He began as a bare knuckle fighter
His first name is also the name of an American state
His name sounds as though it COULD belong to a racehorse
He was renowned for being a bit of a clown in the ring.

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
Fellas, I reckon this one has run its course, ( pun absolutely intended, ) so rather than clog things up I'll give you the answer.
The name I'm looking for is Kentucky Rosebud, who fought his last official bout at the age of 63.
Perhaps Union would like to set us a question, since his answers were so entertaining. You fancy taking the torch, mate ?

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
Nice easy one, we've just had the oldest, so who was the youngest ever professional debutant?

Wasn't the answer I had Scott, but Nipper Pat Daly appears to beat the man (boy) I had as he was "9 or 10" on his debut.

Good job it wasn't Tyson.
He'd have been shot by the age of thirteen.

Benny Leonard, Ted "Kid" Lewis, Henry Armstrong, Billy Conn, and Manuel
Ortiz are Hall of Famers.
What else do they have in common???

Morning, Union.
I know that Lewis, Leonard and Armstrong each lost his first fight. Haven't a clue about Ortiz, but I'll plump for that as an answer, anyway.

Ok, we all know that Emile Griffith holds the record of having fought the most Title Fight rounds, with 339.
Who is second on the list?

I can only think of one of them, Ghosty, and that's Muangsurin, who did it in his third fight.

Two boxers have fought in 5 different decades (which reminds me, we haven't had a 'when does the decade begin' thread on here yet...)

Re: Pass the Parcel Quiz.
Jack Johnson would be one, I believe, ( 1890s to 1930s, ) and as a wild guess I'll go for Mamby as the other.

Oh knickers.
Johnson (1890's - 1930's) and Mamby(1960's - 2000's) are both correct, although neither of them are the ones I was after. I guess there must be 4 then. At least.

Jem Mace, 50s (?) to 00s. And yes Duran, 60s to 00s. Presumably not barenuckle (or else 5 exactly) then, so Duran/Johnson?

Duran is one of the two (four), and we've now got Johnson and Mamby, so there's one more out there...

Not Moore coxy, it is a bit of an obscure one.
I'll give you a clue, he sounds like a young version of the football stadium where Maradona scored the 'Hand of God' goal...
