Really hope this isn't true, it'd be a real shame.

People train for years and years in the hope of Olympic success, and for a bribe to take that away from them would be terrible.

Just watching this just now. The Jones Jnr one ws the worst decision I can remember in pro or amateur ranks. That stank.

Floyd's one in the semi's of 96 was another stinker. Not as poor as the Jones one mind you.

A lot of speculation and allegations but no proof. The BBC have done this before with illegal payments in football.

Thought it was a bit strange that Azerbaijan hosted The Youth World Championships last year and then the seniors this year. They also have a team in the World Series of Boxing, which again is odd as I never took Azerbaijan to be a boxing stronghold.

Hope there is no truth to this, but I'm not holding my breath.

I would put money on there being corruption within the amateur game. Problem with things like this show is they have no real proof.

They must have something to back up their allegations though. With the Olympics next year, I would have thought that the agenda would be to rock the boat as little as possible.

Best time to do it. It will get you more viewers and have more people talking about it. I'm not saying they aren't on to something just that they have no proof. Channel 4 did this and so did panorama with illegal payments in football but all they had was hearsay.

The scoring system in amateur boxing is so ambiguos that corruption would be easyily disguised but would have to ask are the millions of dollas payments for these supposed gold medals really worth it? I mean if its obvious that the medals in question are won in suspicious circumstances then they become pretty devalued anyway and raises more questions than it answers. The gold medal the Korean won against Jones hardly did the country any favours in the long run for instance. Its just bcome synonamous with corruption as opposed to a triumph for South Korea.

Need to watch Newsnight before I jump to any conclusions about it. The Worlds next week will be under serious scrutiny now.
