County Ins and outs
I have created this thread, in case of transfers between the different counties..If you hear of a deal being made, we can write it here, and see how activity there is between now and the start of the season

Re: County Ins and outs
wouldnt suprise me if chapple retired now..He has just won the county championship as skipper with lancs, he is having problems with injury he could go out on a high, and maybe be their bowling coach, the lancs players have a lot of respect for him.

We(Worcestershire) have David Lucas joining us from Northants. Was confirmed earlier in the summer.Hopefully he does as well as Richo.
Re: County Ins and outs
Very good signings for Middlesex and Leicester, a bit gutted about Denly as I would have liked him at Surrey as a more solid and regular opener to partner Hyphen.

Andrew McDonald won't be returning to Leics at all next year, due to visa problems. But Abdul Razzaq will be back for the T20's.

However, it should be noted that depressedsurreyfan remains on standby and could return at short notice.

Any chance he could turn out on loan for Gloucs, just to maintain his match sadness?
We promise you could have him back when necessary (probably at the end of next season).

Maybe heretical - but I think it would not be a bad time for Ramps to retire. I don't like to see him struggle.
Hoggy too - I think he should consider going out on a high with the T20 win....

Corporal - in case you haven't caught up with the wallpaper site yet, just to mention there's reference there to Ramps recently tweeting about having an injection for his back and separately a hospital operation. Whether the op related to his back, knee or something else isn't apparent.
All in all, far from encouraging although I don't think Ramps will throw in the towel until having given things every chance during this winter.
Agree about Hoggy. Seemed far past his best when I saw him bowling in the County Championship at the Oval this summer. Shame.

Somerset have signed Roelof van de Merwe as their overseas player for this season, replacing Murali Karthik, and he starts in June. They are still looking for a playing to play the first two months of the seaosn for them. This is all dependent on Van de Merwe not getting valled up to the SA squad for their tour to England!
Also, Pollard returns for the T20's for his third season with the Cidermen.

Re: County Ins and outs
I think Schofield could do a useful job for another county. OK he's proved not to be good enough bowler for the four day game but he had made valuable contributions with bat and ball in limited overs. Also a good fielder and someone who gives 100%

Re: County Ins and outs
Not exactly an "in" but more of a "staying in". Lancefield and Jewell have signed new one year contracts with Surrey. Neither has so far made an impact and Lancefield was injured most of the 2011 season.
Good to see them get a further opportunity, although I rather fear their first team appearances will continue to be limited. I think they will need to put in consistent outstanding performances in the second XI to force their way into the team. With pace/seam options of Tremlett, Dernbach, Meaker, the Viscount, Lewis, Jordan, Dunn, the Brain....it's difficult to see how Jewell will get into the team short of spate of test calls and injuries...

Re: County Ins and outs
Very surprising news given the strength in bowling and the seeming reluctance to give Lancefield a go in any form last season. I suppoe we don't really have much batting depth so he may well come in handy to cover injuries and he will have to prove his ability when that happens. Good luck to them both though!

Corporal - very much agree with your sentiments and fears. To the pace/seam options, you can also add 'Boy' George Edwards who, although not making the starting XI, was in the first team squad for the last few Championship games.
The likes of Lancefield, Jewell, Edwards and Dunn will hopefully get a chance in the pre-season games next year. Any chances offered will need to be taken quickly with both hands.
I also hope Adams considers sending some of the younger second eleven players out on loan to Division 2 Championship sides. That might be beneficial to all.

Kent has been left in a messy state, but brought on by themselves...
instead of re-developing the ground they could have brought some players instead

It seemed odd last season that Wright went on loan from Division 2 side Essex to Warks who were pushing at the time to win the Division 1 County Championship ....cricketfan90 wrote:

I wonder if there was a personality issue. As touched on before, strange that he wasn't in the Essex team and then almost ends up winning the County Championship with Warks ....cricketfan90 wrote:i thought wright was one of our better bowlers, and deserved more of a go.

Wonder whether Harmison will get another county - don't know much about him but I had the impression he is a bits and pieces sort of player who can bat a bit and bowl a bit but isn't really front line....
