John Morrrrison Thread.
Well its been a couple of months since the last one. So I ask....
1. Has anything changed
2. Has your opinion changed on him
3. Was I right he would never be wwe champion?
I think he will be gone sooner rather than later.

Re: John Morrrrison Thread.
It is too hard to call really, I really rate him and think he would make a great cocky/vain/pretty boy heel with a good manager to be his mouthpiece or written well he could be the under dog kind of like a HBK/Mystetrio situation.
Unfortunately I think Vince's pig headidness is going to see him fall into oblivion as he is not like Shawn who trod on anyone to get noticed, I think he will be another guy to jump to TNA but who is to say that wont work for him in a similar situation it did with Hardy and Christian proving Vince wrong.

Re: John Morrrrison Thread.
John Morrison isn't anywhere as talented as Christian was when he jumped to TNA in 2005 though and nowhere near as over as Hardy was in 2010
If Vince came up to me and asked me to book a Wrestler who hasn't won the World Title into a World Title contender then I think I'd choose Morrison, I'm no great fan of his but can see something in him and feel a few basic changes (music, clothes, finisher, onscreen attitude) would be the start that takes him to a new level

Sooner he goes the better, he has the personality of a drainpipe, his look is boring, lacks charisma, whacks off watching Hornswoggle riding Melina Bareback, i cant take him seriously when you see him bounching over furniture in the back to get his "Parkour" gimmick over....
& whats with him always being in Jeans, but topless!

Thats not a few basic changes, that's a revamp of the entire package, and one that's well past due.
JoMo bores me, he irritates me. He has nothing that would give me more than a passing interest. I'd much rather watch any other member of the WWE mid-card than him.

Re: John Morrrrison Thread.
In all seriousness, what does Jo-Mo offer that would warrant a push more than the likes of Swagger, Ziggler & Cody Rhodes?
For me....Nothing, i would just wish him well in his future endeavours.

Re: John Morrrrison Thread.
His "parkour gimmick" is basically walking Spot Monkey.
Parkour is extremely impressive and I wish I was athletic enough to do it, but why is he stopping at just the odd little flip in the back? If they want to get him over with that then they need to drop the SloMo JoMo entrance and film him out in the streets doing ACTUAL parkour for the titontron and try and incorporate it in to his entrance. Have him flipping his way through the crowd, over the barrier etc.
Either that or give him a mouthpiece and let them provide the personality that he's severely lacking.
As it is, he will not amount to anything other than lower/mid card obscurity.

Re: John Morrrrison Thread.
Morrisson was involved in the storyline which turned R-Truth heel when he conned him into defending his world title shot.
Since that moment, the completely opposite career trajectories of the two men speaks volumes.

That is clearly basic, thats why I said it, if you want a full on description look at the Morrison thread on the same pageDemonicTruthSpeaker wrote:the-gaffer wrote: I'm no great fan of his but can see something in him and feel a few basic changes (music, clothes, finisher, onscreen attitude) would be the start that takes him to a new level

Hardcore Parkour - this should be his entrance video

A basic change would be one of them. A full revamp would be the extent of your suggested changes.
Anyhow, I feel we digress. Morrison needs to do something dramatic to make or pretty much any other sane wrestling fan care about him.

I would LOVE JoMo if that was his entrance video.
They could then incorporate it in to HHH's video (See Y2's Random Thoughts thread.) Have JoMo Parkour his way through the office, knocking over the watercooler and then Trips turns to camera with an "ARGH!"

I do so enjoy an argument based on semantics!
Lots of basic changes = a complete revamp.

Re: John Morrrrison Thread.
four is nowhere near a lot, long term it would obviously lead to a revamp, like I said if you want an idea read it on the topic regarding it, 3\4 basic changes that wouldn't require much time and wouldn't constitute any such 'complete revamp' talk

Re: John Morrrrison Thread.
cut/dye his hair
Change his name
Turn him heel
Give him a manager
Put him in a stable
Do that and you'll scratch the surface of a complete revamp

@gaffer
It begs the question why have him? Just replace him with a better guy.

Re: John Morrrrison Thread.
He has the athleticism to be a decent enough upper mid-carder, or even an occasional main eventer, but he fails to create any emotion for the audience. I think he could be good, it wouldn't take a lot to push him up a level.

Re: John Morrrrison Thread.
So we've gone from:
I'm no great fan of his but can see something in him and feel a few basic changes (music, clothes, finisher, onscreen attitude) - Gaffer
to
cut/dye his hair
Change his name
Turn him heel
Give him a manager
Put him in a stable
Do that and you'll scratch the surface of a complete revamp.
So, if one be so bold as to paraphrase:
You'd change his name, entrance, look, moveset, turn him heel, put him into a stable, give him a mouthpiece and you still don't think this constitutes a complete revamp? What would he need to do, bleach his skin black? Have a certain manly appendage removed and compete as a Diva?
I'm intrigued, my old friend - what in the fabled book of Gaffer would constitute a complete revamp?

Re: John Morrrrison Thread.
I wouldn't change his name, hair, give him a manager or put him in a stable and definitely not turn him heel, I was merely and obviously highlighting what would constitute a complete revamp, not once did say I'd do any of that

Re: John Morrrrison Thread.
Most of the changes that John Morrison needs have already been mentioned but I think one of the biggest things that holds him back is the fact that he's just not believable as a 'fighter'.
Almost everything he does looks overly rehearsed and I just can't buy into him as a guy who would be willing to cast everything aside and throw down with his opponent in order to beat them.
Take Shawn Michaels for instance. Even though he wasn't the biggest guy and he had the pretty boy look, he still had that scrappy, never say die streak in him where he'd keep fighting even after he'd been battered from pillar to post. Morrison could do with that same streak in him.

Re: John Morrrrison Thread.
Similarily to what Y2D2 said, Jeff Hardy had that same quality of taking beatings but continuing to fight which is what made him believable, despite being a fairly similar wrestler to Morrison.

Why would he get a POP if he loses every single time? Jobber central old Jomo. Done nothing of note since he split from the miz. And he was the one who meant to be the next big superstar.
