Francois Peannut. Sorry Piennar
Old Francois peanut made me laugh after this morning's game which saw his countrymen bow out of the World Cup. He starts off calling himself fair and unbiased and then saying that it was an unjust penalty against his team which ultimately cost his team victory. Having looked at the rerun it's obvious that Matfield did little to contribute to the penalty, but his teammate Danie Rossouw can actually be seen holding the felled players leg. Get real Francois. Upending players in a line out can cause serious damage. To see the smug look that you've carried on your face since that opening game against Wales has made my day. Well today you no how we felt after our opening loss. Do all the running but ultimately come up short. I hope you enjoy the rest of the World Cup. But deep down I think you'll probably wish you was elsewhere!

It was a definite penalty. There were some bizarre decisions though. It is telling that Lawrence actually didnt get that last one right, he was told by Poite.
I didnt watch his punditry this morning but by and large i think Pienaar has been the best of that pundit team. He called yesterdays England-France game spot on to me and i dont think he was disingenuous to Wales after the first game.

It was definately a penalty and he (Peanut) probably had the benefit of a TV monitor to confirm it for him. Yet he still stood there after the game saying we'll agree to disagree on this one. Whether Lawrence needed help to get this particular decision right is either here nor there. Thankfully the upended player who the peanut says simply fell over didn't get seriously injured. He says he's unbiased but I'm afraid he's actually one eyed on this!

You discredit your own argument when you refer to "peanut".

So he got one penalty wrong... big deal. Francois Pienaar just saw his team get KO out the RWC, reality check..... no one is unbiased.
It was a penalty but it was a close one.
The man is a legend and to those of us who have been fortunate to meet him know what a great & humble man he is.
Overall he has great insight and is a very good pundit.
Die Bokke may have lost this one... but they will be back and a constant threat in every future RWC to come. Laugh if you want but on the scheme of things they are and will forever be a great side. If people only knew the constraints SA rugby have on them, losers like yourself wouldn't be so smug.
Why not try and be gracious in your own progress..... it may be one of the few times you experience it so try and enjoy it.

I'm not laughing at the fact South africa have left the World Cup. Just annoyed that a great and humble man who has great insight can stand there at the end of the game and say it was a dubious penalty. I suggest you take a view of the incident on the RWC official site. 4min 37secs of the highlights video to be more precise. Rossouw can be seen clearly upending the player. Dangerous "YES". Penalty "YES" Look you can be as great and humble as you want and upset he probably is. But no it's got to be said he is wrong here and he should take it in the chin.

Francois Pienaar is a very decent man. He just saw his team go out and was looking for an easy excuse. We are all guilty of that at times as are most commentators.

Yeah it was a penalty but I suppose one might say he only lifted his leg after he came back to ground

Marginal decision, but the right one on my television.
Superb kick by O'Connor.
Well done Aus.
Got the 'W' regardless of match stats.
