Seen this happen to lots of teams in team sports at world events.
Inevitably they go on to lose.

Who cares,
A player of Shane's quality, ability and stature deserves a World Cup final to finish off his career. A winners medal wouldn't go a miss either!

Well maybe he is hoping the guys can put a bit extra into the game because he is finishing after the tournament. Good luck to him he has given us many wonderful moments over the years.
