Sean Og Ó hAilpín
Sean Og Ó hAilpín has returned to the Cork panel under new Rebels manager Jimmy Barry-Murphy.
Ó hAilpín was axed from the Rebels squad last season under Denis Walsh but said he would be open to a comeback if a new manager was appointed.
Jerry O'Connor has retired from inter-county hurling while Kieran Murphy is currently unavailable due to work commitments outside of the Cork area.

Interesting. Wonder what difference that will make to the Rebels team?

Leave Aisakee where he is, he gave our Padraig Maher an awful pasting in the Cork -v- Tipp game 2010. Isn't Sean Og a little old for team building?

He is still one of the best wing backs in Cork, which probably says more about the state of Cork hurling then him

Setanta has been released by Carlton too but it does'nt say if he's staying over there to try and get a contract for another club or not.

Nooo, not the hAilpin brothers. I though Setanta was doing well, apart from the kicking he gave a team mate.

He has being doing well but they obviously don't fancy him, it could have something to do with kicking the face off his teammate but i doubt it.

Re: Sean Og Ó hAilpín
Seriously, I can't see the advantage of bringing back Sean Og and I certainly can't see any advantage whatsoever in calling up his brothers, if they return. Aisakee and Setanta have both been in the team and then left, came back, and left again. I don't blame them, but it can't be good for Cork. JBM should leave out all players involved in any of the strikes. That time is in the past, leave it there.

34 years old, he is only a pup yet. Geraghty was 38 when he made a comeback last year. Is he now in the management team?.
Maybe thats JBM plan.
Would that start a row in Cork!

Re: Sean Og Ó hAilpín
Didn't Geraghty break a leg or something immediately after his comback. Exactly how many minutes of football did he play? I think there is a serious failure here in Cork to recognise when the time has passed, it's passed. I'm not doubting the younger hAilpin brothers abilities, I'm doubting their commitment. Should a better offer come along again, they'll be off. It's not as if JBM doesn't have real young talent to work with, unless of course he is under pressure to deliver an All-Ireland soon, to coincide with the new stadium and all that. Would JBM take the job with such a time frame - not likely, I'd say? So why look back to past players going into the future.

Rumour doing the rounds is Setanta is on his way back. He was great in 03 but will he still have that touch. He is 28 so should be hitting his prime and as a former AFL player, fitness shouldn't be an issue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHR5-JjR-Tg

Re: Sean Og Ó hAilpín
If he playes like he did then or near enough I would be a happy man, how many full-forwards does that make in the last few years though?
That said there are a lot of rumours doing the rounds in cork lately but I suppose they have been right the majority of the time.

He'll stay for the draft next month and get picked up no problem I'd say.

No, Sean Og is going ok and still has it.
Setanta isn't coming anyway.
