Anybody agree NZ Athems the best?

I've grown to love the NZ anthem
Haka still leaves me cold though.

well for me its the welsh but obviouslyy im biased. Brings me to the verge of tears every time:L

I actually agree with you - hadn't paid much attention to it pre-world cup but I get a shiver down my spine whenever they sing it!

definitely in my top 3!

All anthems (except the brilliant French one) get the mute button treatment in my house.

I actually think the Boks anthem is the best out of the SH sides.

All the NH ones are there or there abouts except GSTQ.

Ukranian anthem is my favorite of all but they didnt make this world cup. Russias is very similar though.

Argentina, Italy, Wales and france all have very passionate anthems, though I really like the japanease one as well.

Italian is the best, then French, Argentine & Japanese.

I think in order SA, France, NZ,

NZ´s anthem is awful. They should sing it in Maori and then stop. At least the lyrics sound better.

South Africa's is very good

Italian without a doubt. Great fun and the crescendo at the end always gets the Italians visibly pumped.

NZ's good, but italy is funny.

Welsh one first then the French and then NZ , sung all three with gusto on the weekend although only know the words to the NZ one

I actually also really like Advance Australia Fair - the whole thing sings like a chorus and you get to use the silly word "girt". Everyone's a winner.

Very emotive thread this one...

I love GSTQ and this always sends a shiver down my spine but this is the British Anthem not the English Anthem.

I would like us to have our own. Not a fan of Jerusalem as I think this is a bit of a dirge. Personal favourite would be Land of Hope & Glory... love a bit of Elgars pomp & circumstance!

The haka pre-dates the anthem Glas. We should have quit while we were ahead

Obviously Scotland is my favourite, great to hear at Murrayfield, but in the WC, I have continued to enjoy the French and Italian athems

Ireland being the worst of the lot. I physically cringe whenever i hear Irelands call.

Wow they are great lyrics!

I loved Irelands call when I was younger and still sing it when they come to Murrayfield, but having heard it so much I am getting a bit bored of it!

France by a country mile for me! (The lyrics are a bit much but the huge history behind it just sweeps you along!)

As regards Phil Coulter's load of overblown disney-esque nonsense... Nonetheless, I still think it makes more sense than singing Amhran na bhFiann before every game. I'm probably all on my own on this... but I'd always thought Danny Boy would have been a better option for a whole island team... Then we could have out post-tournament slow-mo highlights set to Elvis, Jackie Wilson and a whole host of other legends

Danny boy would upset somebody though I take it. Why don't the fans sing it from the terraces?
