remarkable stroke from KP, a sort of lofted back foot on drive with a straight bat, wide of long-on for four. Completely deliberately played, but not one you'll see in any coaching manual that's for sure.

Hopefully the day KP ends that, 2 year drought in ODI's without a century.

Can England (when taken) make the batting powerplay count for big runs for a change. With these two well set, they will not get a better chance.

Shows the stupidity of the objections to hawkeye which was based on its unreliability when the batsman steps down the pitch....at least the machines estimate of probability is fairly and equally applied based on objective measurements, not just the subjective variable guesses of an umpire.

this is why Patel isn't fit enough, he's knackered out there, so isn't really lucid enough. Three dot balls at this stage is poor, though that's a big six

Trouble is the six hitters come in ...and get out...Trott is set at least and probably has as good a chance as any of scoring fast for these last few...main thing is keep getting bat on ball , rather a four two twos and three ones than a six and a few dots and wickets...
Patel hitting out well ...could get 290 here...

Patel needs to be a bit less predictable though, always backing away and trying to hit through the off-side makes it a bit too easy for the bowler. Still, I'm nit-picking, it's been a great little knock from him today

To be fair to Patel (who isn't fit enough I agree) this has been exactly the innings required. Trott has played his role admirably also. Don't think England have enough, but good to see some fight.
